BA Business Administration and Information Technology, Ryerson University

Choosing between universities can be a tough decision, but here are some factors to consider when deciding between the University of Western Ontario and Ryerson University for the Faculty of Engineering:

  • Program Offerings: Both universities offer a range of engineering programs, but it's important to look at the specific programs that interest you. Consider the program curriculum, course options, and the types of hands-on experiences available.
  • Location: The location of the university can be an important factor to consider. The University of Western Ontario is located in London, a smaller city in southwestern Ontario, while Ryerson University is located in the heart of downtown Toronto. Consider what type of environment you prefer, as well as transportation options and cost of living.
  • Campus Culture: Each university has its own unique campus culture, so it's important to consider which one will be the best fit for you. Look at factors such as campus size, student life, extracurricular activities, and campus diversity.
  • Reputation: While both universities are well-respected, the University of Western Ontario is consistently ranked higher in overall university rankings. However, Ryerson University has a strong reputation for its engineering programs and its connections to the industry.
  • Career Opportunities: It's important to consider the career opportunities available to you after graduation. Research what types of companies and industries recruit from each university, and what career support services are available.

The decision between the University of Western Ontario and Ryerson University will depend on your individual preferences and goals. Consider all of these factors and visit each campus if possible to get a better sense of which university is the best fit for you.

How is Chemical Engineering at MANIT Bhopal?

PS
Parveen Sindhu Posted On : April 22nd, 2023
Studied at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Bhopal

If you are considering the Chemical Engineering Department at MANIT Bhopal, here are some pros and cons based on the experience of a current student:

Pros:

  • The department has relatively small class sizes of around 60 students. This allows for more one-on-one interaction with professors, similar to what you may have experienced in school.
  • The HOD (Head of Department) and senior faculty members are helpful and care about the interests of students.
  • Despite being a newer department (started around 10 years ago), the Chemical Engineering Department has maintained decent placement records.
  • Compared to other departments, there are fewer classes, giving you more time for yourself to prepare for future prospects such as GATE, CAT, GRE, etc.
  • The department has better infrastructure than many other departments at MANIT, and the labs have continuously improved over the past few years.

Cons:

  • There are no professors in the Chemical Engineering Department, only Assistant Professors. This can lower the standard of education, which may not be what one would expect from an NIT.
  • Most of the courses are taught by Contract Faculties who can be rude, non-qualified, and excessively egoistic.
  • The department has a skewed relative grading system where no one gets a perfect 10 in any subject, even if they score as high as 97/98. This diminishes the point of having a relative grading system.
  • There is no library in the department, and even the college library is in a state of extreme disarray.

Overall, if you are considering the Chemical Engineering Department at MANIT, it is important to weigh the pros and cons mentioned above. While the department has small class sizes, helpful senior faculty members, and decent placements, it also has a lack of professors, rude contract faculties, a skewed grading system, and a lack of library resources.

In UPTU, I got 17,370 general rank and OBC rank 5155. Can I get IET, Lucknow?

JM
Jyoti Mishra Posted On : August 20th, 2021
Studied at Institute of Engineering and Technology, Lucknow

IET Lucknow being one of the top colleges under AKTU is one of the most preferred colleges by the students in UPSEE counseling. Usually, it accepts students with a general rank under 2000 in UPSEE with a little margin for the OBC category.

With the mentioned rank, there is almost no chance for you to be accepted into this college. However, you can get one of the three Rajkiye Engineering Colleges (RECs) at this rank. You can also try for certain other private colleges such as AKG or JSS.

Check the previous year’s cut-off pattern of IET Lucknow in the table below:

Course IET Lucknow Cut Off
B.Tech in CSE 120-226
B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering 1310-1434
B.Tech in Civil Engineering 1260-2004
B.Tech in Chemical Engineering 2081-3438
B.Tech in ECE 508-764

Give a try in other private colleges till the last counseling rounds as admission in IET, Lucknow with these ranks is almost impossible to get.

How is the food in IIIT Allahabad?

VS
Vishal Sethi Posted On : March 22nd, 2021
Studied Electronics and Communication Engineering at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (2019)

The food at IIIT Allahabad is satisfactory, not that great. After all, it is a government institute and no one can brag about food when they study at a government institute.

There are four hostels at IIIT Allahabad. Since one of my friends is a student at IIIT Allahabad, B.Tech first year, here is a little information about the menu:

  • The breakfast is different every day such as puri sabzi, bread pakora, idli-sambhar, etc with a few common things such as bread and butter/jam, tea/coffee, etc.
  • Lunch can be either roti or rice or both with different seasonal vegetables and dal. Also, achar/chutney and salad are common every day.
  • Dinner is also different each day and special on Sundays.
  • Sunday is the only day in a week that a non-vegetarian dish is served.

A few points about the mess:

  • All four hostels have their own mess.
  • All the messes are clean and fully air-conditioned.
  • GymKhana (Student Body) and mess committees are there to check the cleanliness and hygiene of the mess and the cooking areas.

There have not been any cases of food poisoning or any disease related to food. Also, food is regularly inspected.

Please give an honest review for the NMIMS Mumbai campus for the BTech program?

AS
Anubhuti Shekhar Posted On : March 9th, 2023
Graduate candidate at Thunderbird School of Global Management

If you attend this college, you'll find that it caters to an expensive, cushy, rich crowd. However, whether or not you actually learn anything will be up to you, as the classes can be quite lax. You'll need to maintain 805 attendance, which is compulsory.

On the bright side, the teachers are good and there are decent placement opportunities, especially when compared to other colleges. There are also various opportunities available, but keep in mind that money talks here, so be prepared to fend for yourself. The course itself is okay, much like most engineering colleges, but the labs and equipment are good and the infrastructure is solid.

Overall, if you choose to attend this college, you'll find that it's like any good engineering college with a higher fee. Just remember to stay focused and take advantage of the resources available to you. With hard work and dedication, you can succeed and thrive in this environment.
