What is the difference between BE and B.Tech?
The fundamental difference between BE and BTech is the way these courses are delivered. Contrary to the popular misconception, BE isn’t just theory oriented. Both BE and BTech coursework includes theory as well as practicals. But a BTech offers a more in-depth and advanced level study of a particular field. While BE covers the fundaments.
There are no such differences between BE and BTech, other than the course pattern. These two courses are considered equivalent. In terms of preference, your institute will matter more compared to your degree. IIT students certainly enjoy some advantages in terms of placements and higher studies.
What is the hostel fee at BHU including mess charge and everything?
Firstly, the hostel fees at BHU vary from course to course. So all I can do is give you a rough estimate through the information I got from my sister who pursued B.Sc from BHU.
Hostel Fees
- 1st semester stood: INR 2666
- 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th semester: INR 1290 (regular fee and hostel fee both)
- 3rd, 5th, and 7th: INR 3190 (regular fee and hostel fee)
Mess Charges:
- INR 40 for a simple diet
- INR 60 for special
- INR 80 for chicken
Usually, there are 2 diets a day and on Sundays, there is only one diet. But the Sunday meal is special so it is counted as a double diet. So the approximate price stands at INR 80-100 per day.
If you skip the meal or go home then you can tell Mess Maharaj and you won’t be charged.
Should I choose IIIT Hyderabad over IIT Bombay for CSE?
Choosing one between IIIT Hyderabad and IIT Bombay for CSE will depend on your personal preferences since both the institutes are highly regarded especially in the field of Computer Science. Always remember that your success rate is directly proportional to your efforts and not your college.
Consider the following aspects and the preferred choice in each of them
- If you are looking for an elite peer pool with the most geniuses minds, prefer IIT Bombay to IIIT Hyderabad as it comprises JEE toppers, Olympiad Toppers, etc
- If you are looking for a better coding culture then IIIT Hyderabad it is. It has a larger number of students involved in GSoC, Competitive Programming, Open Source, etc
- If you want a better campus experience as a whole go for IIT Bombay. Its campus has a lake, a hill, a jungle, Mumbai City Skyline view, thus the quality of life is better here.
- Both the institutes have equally good placements for the average students while IIT Bombay has better opportunities for toppers.
- If you value brand name and tag then IIT Bombay is the obvious choice.
- If you are a research enthusiast then you will get better opportunities at IIT Bombay because of better professors and alumni network. Moreover, the IIT tag gives you an edge in foreign higher studies.
So make your choice based on your preferences!
Should I study CSE at BITS Pilani or CSE at IIT (BHU)?
IIT BHU and BITS Pilani are both highly respected engineering colleges in India. Here’s why IIT BHU is a better option out of the two:
- Brand Value: The "IIT" name is prestigious and globally recognized. This reputation can be very helpful when applying for jobs or higher studies abroad.
- Affordable Fees: As a government institution, IIT BHU has much lower fees compared to BITS Pilani, which is a private institution. This makes IIT BHU more affordable for students.
- High Return on Investment (ROI): Due to its lower fees and excellent placements, IIT BHU has a higher ROI. Students of IIT BHU invest comparatively less money in their education, but they receive high-paying jobs after graduation.

IIT BHU is much more cost-effective than BITS Pilani, and it has better placements as well. Therefore, IIT BHU CSE is a much better option.
Should I study CSE at BITS Pilani or CSE at IIT BHU?
According to me, opting for IIT BHU for CSE is a better choice as compared to BITS Pilani.
- IIT BHU is well-recognized nationwide for offering excellent academic standards and research opportunities that help students grow careers.
- IIT BHU offers four four-year BTech programs for CSE, and the average fee for the first year is around INR 2.27 LPA.
- IIT BHU offers one of the best placements to the students amongst the IITs.
- In 2023 474 offers and 305 PPOs were made.
- The domestic highest package is INR 1.68 CPA and the international highest package is INR 77 LPA.
What happens in BSc IGNOU practicals?
Practicals for first-year B.Sc students are held in February for the July session. Practicals are usually held on Sundays at around 9 a.m. Boys and girls have their rooms. When the assistant finishes the distribution work, the teacher asks you to write two experiments with the aim, requirements, method, theory, and everything with tables. The teacher announces the student's name. He then asks a few questions regarding the same before concluding the practicals. You just have to keep the file handy and create a beautiful piece. Improve your writing abilities.
What is the fee for SC/ST students in IIM A, B, and C?
There is no concession for SC/ST students in IIM A, B and C. But this is not a major issue.
IIMs offer a lot of financial aid services to financially weak people. In some cases, the entire fee is paid by the college or some part. It depends on the judgment of the panel on the basis of your situation.
All IIMs offer educational loans at a relatively low interest rate. Banks usually consider IIM students as a profitable investment. So rather than worrying about the money, focus more on your goals.

How good is an MBA from IP university New Delhi?
According to the reviews online, the majority of the students said it is not a good option to pursue MBA from IP University, Delhi.
Here are some reasons why:
- More focus is given on theoretical preparation than the practicals. Students often complain about the incomplete training.
- If you wish to learn about your course, it will not provide you with the satisfaction. Because mostly students tend to mug up last year’s questions and answer books.
- Scoring is easy even if you study only 2-4 days before the exam.
- The same 10-15 questions are repeated every year.
- If you want to build yourself, you mostly have to do it all on your own, because the college won't make much effort.
- Placements here are average. Only the top 10 students are usually given access to sit for the placements.
Therefore a lot of students do not get the proper opportunities to get a job. If you are willing to work on your own and are confident enough, then only opt for IP University, Delhi.
How much is the fees of Thapar University for a 4 years BTech programme, including all hostel fees, etc.?
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (TIET), now known as Thapar University charges different fees for different courses. The 4-year B.Tech Fees range between INR 1,95,300 and INR 2,38,600 Per Semester depending on the specialization and other factors. The one-year fee is 4.61 Lakhs.
