What CGPA is required for placement at DTU?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : July 6th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

Anyone that says that your CGPA does not matter in placements is either trying to fool you or hasn’t experienced placements at DTU. Most companies evaluate your skills and knowledge on the basis of your CGPA and the ones with low grades often remain unplaced.

Recruiters want to hire students who show promising performances and achievements in their academic profile. Their high CGPA is a reflection of the hard work they are capable of. On average, always try to maintain your CGPA above 8.25 i.e. CPI:75+. Apart from enjoying your college life, it’s crucial to make the most out of your studies and get placed in a decent company.

How is the hostel at NIT Jalandhar? Is internet available? Can we use coolers as A/C is not available? Can freshers get a single room hostel?

HV
Harish Vishnoi Posted On : December 2nd, 2022
Studied at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (NITJ) (Graduated 2019)

NIT Jalandhar has 7 standalone hostels apart from mega hostels. These are named as:

  • Hostel 1 and 2

  • Hostel 3-7E

  • Mega hostels

Hostel 1 has no internet facilities whereas Hostel 2 has a LAN facility.

You cannot use A/C or coolers in the first year. But the fans that are installed will be more than enough. From the second year you can avail A/C and cooler facilities.

No, freshers don’t get a single room hostel. During the first year you have to share the room with 3 other boys. From the second year you can opt for a single room.

Is CMC Ludhiana better or DMC Ludhiana better for surgery?

SD
Samarth Deb Posted On : September 25th, 2023
Lives in Ludhiana

Honestly, I feel the better hospital for surgery depends on the doctor rather than just the institute. CMC Ludhiana is a charitable organization so lacks top-notch facilities like the availability of medicines within the premises. However, the dedication level of the doctors is high and the expenses are similar to other hospitals like DMC, etc. The best part about CMC Ludhiana is the doctors aren't after monetary gains but rather choose to serve the community. They dont practice medicine privately and only attend to the patients in Hospital OPD.

DMC on the other hand is run by Doctors on sales Target or Commissions. The hospital has excellent facilities and highly experienced doctors. However, sometimes the patients are recommended to undergo surgery even when it is not an emergency just to earn money. Moreover, almost every doctor here pursues private practice.

So, there is a drastic difference in the work environment of both institutes. I feel you should trust the doctor personally rather than the institute because both have good and bad cases. The treatment costs of almost all the private hospitals are similar to the government hospitals like PGI or AIIMS etc.

So choose wisely!

Is it worth going for World University of Design with a 190 rank in UCEED? If not, then what other college should I go for?

AG
Aparna Ghai Posted On : June 22nd, 2021
Senior Technical Manager at LTI, India (2013-present)

World University of Design is a very new college. Since this college is very new it will take time to establish itself in the market.

  • The only good thing about this college as of now is that you will get a UGC certified degree from this college.
  • The college doesn’t have experienced in-house faculties for core subjects.
  • The academic structure of the college is not well structured because of this you might face problems.
  • There is no proper course structure and the management is not reliable.
  • You won’t have any placement support.

It will be riskier for you to join such an institution at an initial stage. If you have other options available then you must go for them.

MITADT, Shristi, DAIICT, Symbiosis Aavantika are some of the reputed design institutes that you can consider.

What are the cons of joining NIT Silchar?

LC
Lipika Chakraborty Posted On : August 25th, 2023
B.tech from National Institute of Technology Silchar (2020)

Here are a few cons of joining NIT Silchar one must consider before marking the final decision

  1. Reputation : There is a false notion that NIT Silchar is located in some disturbing region which is obviously untrue. The harmony between seniors and juniors here is unmatched so is the ambiance here.
  2. Connectivity : Owing to its remote location NIT Silchar students face major connectivity issues. The duration of the train journey is around 50 hours.

Honestly, I don’t find any other major issues with the other except that it has become a victim of false allegations and rumors. So if you are planning to come here, you are welcome!
