Questions Asked On DMCH Ludhiana, Ludhiana

Is CMC Ludhiana better or DMC Ludhiana better for surgery?

Honestly, I feel the better hospital for surgery depends on the doctor rather than just the institute. CMC Ludhiana is a charitable organization so lacks top-notch facilities like the availability of medicines within the premises. However, the dedication level of the doctors is high and the expenses are similar to other hospitals like DMC, etc. The best part about CMC Ludhiana is the doctors aren't after monetary gains but rather choose to serve the community. They dont practice medicine privately and only attend to the patients in Hospital OPD.

DMC on the other hand is run by Doctors on sales Target or Commissions. The hospital has excellent facilities and highly experienced doctors. However, sometimes the patients are recommended to undergo surgery even when it is not an emergency just to earn money. Moreover, almost every doctor here pursues private practice.

So, there is a drastic difference in the work environment of both institutes. I feel you should trust the doctor personally rather than the institute because both have good and bad cases. The treatment costs of almost all the private hospitals are similar to the government hospitals like PGI or AIIMS etc.

So choose wisely!

Which one should I choose for a PG in pediatrics, CMC Ludhiana or DMCH Ludhiana? What about the stipend in these two?

Both Christian Medical College CMC Ludhiana and DMCH Ludhiana are well-respected institutions for postgraduate studies in pediatrics. However, I recommend that you go for DMCH Ludhiana as it’s the most coveted medical college in Punjab owing to its top-notch infrastructure, clinical exposure, and the expertise level of faculty.

CMC Ludhiana too is an excellent medical college but the only drawback is that it’s a minority-based college so the seats in open merit are rare. It’s known to have the best Pediatrics department, so it’s an excellent choice too given that you have no financial constraints.

Lastly, I don’t think you should be choosing or evaluating colleges based on the stipend they pay. AIIMS pays the highest stipend but is that the reason it’s the dream college of many? Well, no. So it’s better to look at the bigger perspective and make a well-rounded decision.

ForgottenFaun Posted On : February 25th, 2026

DMC Ludhiana is a great choice for MBBS, I promise! Wondering how I know? Well, I met a girl during the AIIMS counseling session who later went to DMC Ludhiana. We've kept in touch and spent countless hours chatting about subjects and common queries. From what she's shared, the professors there are fantastic. They explain things very well and cover everything in detail. Academically, it's got everything you could want.

How is the life of an MBBS student at DMC Ludhiana?

V
VaporwaveVanguard Posted On : February 24th, 2026

Being an MBBS student here is a mix of hard work and fun. The college has a vibrant campus life with events like freshers and annual festivals. The library is well-stocked, which is a big plus for us.

I'm staying in a clean, well-lit hostel with good food options. The faculty is approachable and supportive, making it easier to discuss both academic and personal issues. It feels like a nurturing environment for aspiring doctors.

What is the process for admission to Dayanand Medical College Ludhiana and CMC Ludhiana for general category and cutoff for both?

S
SynthSavior Posted On : February 23rd, 2026

To get into Dayanand Medical College Ludhiana and CMC Ludhiana, you'll need to go through Punjab state counseling. As of now, it seems that there aren't any updates about the counseling process on the site, so it's a good idea to keep checking it regularly and make sure to apply and participate in their counseling when it opens.

Regarding the cutoff scores:

  • For CMCL, if you're applying under the general Punjab quota, aim for around 600, give or take 10 points. For the general All India Quota, the cutoff is about 610, maybe 5 points higher or lower.
  • For DMC, the management quota cutoff is similar, but for the government quota, expect a cutoff around 630.

Which is the best BCA college in Faridabad?

S
SerendipitousSalmon Posted On : February 23rd, 2026

For me, the best BCA college in Faridabad is where I’m enrolled. The college fee is approximately 5000, and they offer some scholarships for SC and ST students. I believe the course could be improved by providing more hands-on learning opportunities.

The campus life is okay, but there aren’t many sports activities available.

Which college is better CMC Ludhiana or DMC Ludhiana? Is CMC Ludhiana worth spending huge bucks?

C
CosmicChronicler Posted On : February 22nd, 2026

I would say CMC Ludhiana is a great choice if you're considering spending on your education. The Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] in Nursing program has a comprehensive curriculum that prepares us well for modern procedures. I’ve really appreciated the support from the faculty, and the integrated learning environment has helped me grow a lot.

Although the fees are quite high, the quality of education and facilities make it worthwhile.

What is the fee structure of DMC Ludhiana?

C
ChromaticCaster Posted On : February 21st, 2026

I joined DMC Ludhiana back in 2011, so the fees were different then. From what I remember recently, the fees are divided into three types: Government seat, Management seat, and NRI seat. For a Government seat, the tuition fee is around 3.5 lakhs, with a 10% increase each year. The Management seat costs about 6.5 lakhs, also with a 10% annual increase. If you're looking at an NRI seat, it's about 1 lakh 10 thousand US dollars.

Besides tuition, there are other expenses like hostel fees, mess, electricity, water, library, and other miscellaneous charges, adding up to around 75–80 thousand per year. This info is from a year or two ago, so it's just a rough idea. Good luck with your studies!

What are the marks required for getting a DMC Ludhiana MBBS seat?

V
VerboseVirtuoso Posted On : February 20th, 2026

To get an MBBS seat at DMC Ludhiana, there are options between semiprivate and private seats. The private seats have a lower cutoff since they come with higher fees. For semigovernment seats, the cutoff in the first round of counseling was 600. By the second round, it dropped to around 575, and in the third round, someone with 562 made it in. So, aiming for at least 570 is a good target for a semigovernment seat at DMC. Hope this info helps you out!

Which college is better DMC Ludhiana or GMC Patiala?

C
CosmicConjurer Posted On : February 20th, 2026

Honestly, I have only experienced DMC Ludhiana for my Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Nursing), and I can't compare it directly with GMC Patiala since I haven't studied there. However, the integrated learning environment and strong focus on practical skills at DMC have really helped me grow. From what I've heard, GMC Patiala is also a good institution, but my personal experience has been overwhelmingly positive at DMC.
