Should IIT Patna be preferred for an M.Tech in CSE? Are NIT Tirchy, Warangal, Surathkal better than IIT Patna for an M.Tech in CSE?

SR
Sushmita Rajput Posted On : June 21st, 2023

Yes, NIT Trichy, Warangal, and Surathkal are better options for MTech than IIT Patna because of their superior location. The placement scenario at any institute is directly proportional to its location and proximity to tech hubs.

A location imparts better industry exposure that forms the foundation for any tech college. Consider the location as the primary factor while choosing your college. The reason I said NITs are better than IIT Patna today is because of their location and the quality of recruiters they attract as a result.

IIT Patna is a great institute but lacks the recognition yet and thus most recruiters don't visit it. So, look beyond the IIT tag a make a wise decision.

How good is KLE Technological University?

AB
Adrija Bose Posted On : July 26th, 2021
Studied at Jadavpur University (2019)

KLE Technological University is a very popular and reputed university. But like any other university, it also has some advantages and disadvantages. Some of my friends are from this institute, and here’s what they have mentioned about it.

Advantages:

  • KLE Technological University is an autonomous university so it has an edge over VTU or any other educational body.
  • The infrastructure is very beautiful and spacious. Life at the college campus is completely enjoyable.
  • There are also various sports and cultural events held at the campus.
  • This university focuses more on practical-based learning rather than relying on old-school methods or more bookish learning.
  • The students are assigned to make projects from the 1st semester itself.
  • The coding culture of this college is very good and it also has a start-up culture.
  • New ideas by students are appreciated and encouraged.
  • There is also a UPSC training block inside the campus. It provides coaching to the students who want to prepare for IAS/IPS exams.

Disadvantages:

  • This university is located at Hubli, so there will be a lack of opportunities for the students to visit the industrial sites.
  • Most of the students studying here think that engineering is easy and thus they are not focused on their studies. This affects the competitive environment and makes the students careless.
  • The seniors are not cooperative.
  • The placements are mediocre.
  • Companies that participate in the placement drive are mass recruiters like TCS or IBM. They generally offer students lower packages.
Categories KLE Technological University
Course Fee 2.28 lakh
Highest CTC 14 LPA
Average CTC 7-8 LPA

Hence, KLE Technological University is a mediocre college. If you want to study there it is completely your choice. If you are interested in appearing for UPSC exams you can go for it. Other than that, this college does not really stand out.

What do you think of Anna University's valuation of semester papers?

AB
Archana Baskar Posted On : December 1st, 2022
Studying at SSN

Honestly, the evaluation process at Anna University is quite messed up. There is no proper strategy behind their valuation. It’s just your luck that decides your marks.

Most of the students have to apply for revaluation, the fees for which is around INR 700 for a single paper. Apart from this if you are willing to apply for a challenge review, the cost is INR 3000. All this seems like a money making strategy. Despite revaluation students keep getting worse grades every year.

This practice is spoiling the future of so many bright students. Hope someone takes action.

I joined LHMC this year instead of any peripheral AIIMS I could have got. Now everyone is saying they will be better in a few years and I'm freaking out now?

AB

No, you certainly made the right choice by choosing LGMC over any other peripheral AIIMS. I have seen many medical aspirants run after the AIIMS tag and choose a peripheral AIIMS only to regret it later. Only the ones that have been established for about 5–6 years are worth taking admission in.

In my opinion, it’s better to go for a medical college that has a legacy of more than 10 years as it will be better academically, environmentally, and even in terms of the campus life it offers. Choosing LHMC will expose you to better opportunities especially because of its prime location in CP. Moreover, it also has Delhi Quota for MD. The clinical exposure is also unmatched and the internship opportunities will be plentiful.

So, put your worries to rest as you have made a wise decision by choosing LHMC over a peripheral AIIMS.

What is your review of SVNIT Surat?

YG
Yogita Goswami Posted On : January 3rd, 2024
B.Tech Mechanical Engineering at SVNIT

My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.

For sports enthusiasts, SVNIT is not the right choice. The condition of sports facilities at our college is not good. The sports grounds are not in a good shape. The cricket/football ground becomes a grassland from July to December.

The indoor badminton courts, which are two in number, are immensely insufficient to cater to around 4000 students. Each one has to wait a long time for their turn, and is given around 10 minutes to play the sport. Such a huge number of students can not access the badminton courts for sufficient durations. MMNCT is the best sports event of the year. It is an inter-year cricket tournament that takes place at night. The gym is well designed and has all the modern equipment.

Many classes are boring. But a lot of the professors, especially in the Civil department, teach really well. The marking system is very transparent, and after 15-30 days post the exams, answer sheets are made available for students to have a look. The classrooms are also very school-like in appearance. The rules are lenient, and most teachers are satisfied with a 60% student attendance.

The location is quite good, and malls, theaters, etc. are easily accessible. The campus is located in a posh area of Surat. Places like Mumbai, Daman, etc. are easily accessible for getaways. The placements are top notch, the clubs are plenty and quite decent. The mess food is quite good as well.

Unless you are very serious about getting the best sports facilities, SVNIT is a good college. But for sports facilities, I would recommend you try for MNIT Jaipur.

If you want to top B.Tech. from AKTU, adopt consistency and hard work. Rather than focusing on theory parts, pay more attention to numerical questions. The listed below points will help you further in getting a good rank:

  • Be a regular and disciplined student. Bond with your teachers and attend classes regularly.

  • The answer to every question should be more than 2 paragraphs.

  • Make sure your answer sheet is neat and organized.

  • Use two inks. A different one for the headings and important parts.

JG
Joydeep Guha Posted On : June 16th, 2022

Amity University Noida is an excellent choice for BA Journalism and Mass Communication. Amity School of Communication (ASCO) has a brilliant faculty base and even has its own TV and radio channel. You can make your own movie or anchor a radio show. The course curriculum has a good balance between theory and practical.

Students of ASCO get placed in corporate media houses and advertising firms. Few also open their own studio.

How hard is it to get into NIT Trichy and get CSE? How hard did you study?

TR
Tirtha Ray Posted On : August 31st, 2021
B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (2021)

NIT Trichy is a really good college when it comes to most NITs. But, you will only get admission through JEE Main. You will definitely have to score well if you plan to secure admission here.

  • About 90% of the entire paper is quite easy to solve at home but you will have to develop skills to be able to solve the paper quickly and efficiently.
  • See how well you can do with MCQs along with your boards’ preparation.
  • Develop your accuracy, for example, if you solve 30 questions, ensure that 18 of them are correct at least even if you end up attempting only 22 of them.
  • As far as CSE or any good core branch is concerned, NITs are relatively easier to get into as compared to IITs.

The cut-offs for NIT Trichy in CSE are as follows:

Categories Male Female
Home State Other state Home State Other state
General 5235 1373 4075 2371
SC 1300 138 1435 420
OBC 2165 357 4085 1060
EWS 2068 165 2489 305

You will have to do your best and strive a little hard in order to secure your seat. Getting into core branches is quite tough especially for branches like ECE and mechanical. As long as you meet the above cut-offs, you should be good to go. Analyze your paper well, set a dedicated schedule and at the end, you will surely be able to crack the JEE.
