How is BA (Hons.) Economics branch at DTU? What about its placement in 2025/26??

F
FuzzyFervor Posted On : April 3rd, 2026

Studying BA (Hons.) Economics at DTU has been a fulfilling journey for me. I chose this course because of my interest in economics and history from school. The campus has around 2000 students, and the faculty is quite knowledgeable. The internship opportunities are decent, with startups and established firms like Bajaj and Byjus visiting for placements. For 2025/26, I think the placement scene is promising, but only about 20-25% of students get placed each year, so it’s competitive. The average package is around 5 LPA, so I’m aiming to secure a decent offer myself.

How is the BE/B.Tech at DTU? What are the placement opportunities and rankings for this branch??

I
InfiniteOption Posted On : April 3rd, 2026

DTU is one of the top engineering colleges in India, and saying that the placements here are decent would be an understatement! Being located in the capital city, this institution provides some of the best placement opportunities in the country.

Major recruiters include:

  • Microsoft
  • DirectI
  • Amazon
  • Samsung
  • BCG
  • Bain
  • Big 4
  • Works Applications
  • Daikin Belgium
  • Maruti
  • Texas Instruments
  • Qualcomm
  • SanDisk

And the list goes on! In recent years, even PSUs have started participating in placement drives. Companies like IOCL, BHEL, and HPCL have visited the campus.

While I don’t have the exact figures or salary offers, you can definitely expect competitive salaries from these MNCs. The hard truth is that securing a position in any particular company will depend on the skills you acquire during your four years in college. If you have the right skills, you will definitely find a way!

Is doing B.Tech Computer Engineering from DTU any good?

R
RippedRogue Posted On : April 3rd, 2026

I’m really enjoying my B.Tech in Computer Engineering at DTU! I chose this branch because I wanted to dive into practical applications rather than just theory. The faculty here are quite experienced, and the term exams are pretty manageable, almost like board exams. The fee structure is around 2.3 lakhs per year, which feels reasonable considering the facilities we get. Plus, the campus life is vibrant with annual fests like Engifest and Yuvaan, both held in February. The sports culture is strong, and there are numerous events throughout the year. If you want a good college experience along with a solid education, DTU is definitely worth it.

QuantumPineapple Posted On : April 3rd, 2026

If you’re looking at DTU for B.Tech in Computer Engineering, you should expect to pay approximately 2.3 lakhs annually. Honestly, the fees are on the higher side, but the quality of education and the faculty make up for it. Plus, with placements starting from the 6th semester and a placement percentage of about 98% for tech branches, it really feels like an investment in your future.

What is the total approx fees of DTU for BBA??

N
NaiveNymph Posted On : April 3rd, 2026

The total fees for the BBA course at DTU is approximately 3,00,000. I find this a bit steep for a government college, especially since the fees tend to increase by around 5-7% every year. Still, the learning environment and faculty make it worth it in my opinion.

How is B.Tech Electrical Engineering branch at DTU? What about its placement in 2025/26??

S
StardustHoliday Posted On : April 3rd, 2026

The B.Tech in Electrical Engineering at DTU is quite intense but rewarding. I got into this branch due to my JEE rank, and while it wasn’t my first choice, I’ve grown to appreciate the curriculum. The faculty is really impressive, with a great student-to-teacher ratio, and they hold advanced degrees. Exams are tough, happening every two months, so you need to stay on your toes. For placements in 2025/26, I’ve heard that many big names like Google and Microsoft recruit here, and last year, 96% of students got placed, with the highest package being a whopping 1.83 crores. It’s motivating to see such success!

What has been your best experience at the DTU??

StolenSonnet Posted On : April 3rd, 2026

For me, the best experience at DTU has to be the learning environment. With around 2000 students and a dedicated faculty of around 70, there's always something happening. The guest faculty, especially those from JNU, bring a wealth of knowledge that really enhances our understanding of economics. Plus, the midterm exams after just two months keep us on our toes! I appreciate how the campus has everything we need, from well-equipped classrooms to daily newspapers for staying updated, making it an all-around great place to study.

What is the reputation of DTU in New Delhi for studying BA??

D
DerpyDonut Posted On : April 3rd, 2026

Absolutely, you should consider it! I'm currently enrolled in the same course. At first, I was skeptical since it's a new program for the college. But I have to say, the faculty is fantastic! It's better than most of the faculty at Delhi University. If you're not getting into a top college, definitely think about DTU. The professors come from some of the best colleges in DU.

Here are some points to consider:

  • The campus may not be the best right now (but it's improving, and both the professors and the Delhi government are working hard to enhance it).
  • Academically, it's worth it! In just one year, the college has made significant progress.
  • We organized our own fest! We were all freshers too.
  • The faculty is incredibly supportive.
  • Teaching happens here, and we take our end-semester exams on the main campus.
  • We participate in various events at the main campus and are often invited for different programs.

So, don’t think we’re disconnected from the main campus. Overall, this newly established campus is on its way to becoming one of the best colleges for Economics Honours in the coming years.

P.S.: I scored 94% too!

Which is a better career, DTU B.Des or a SSC level government job??

W
WanderingPonder Posted On : April 3rd, 2026

Honestly, I got into Engineering without fully understanding what it entailed.

As I progressed at DTU, it became increasingly clear that this path wasn’t for me. And that’s okay. Not everything suits everyone, and accepting that is crucial.

By the end of my third year, I began exploring other options, and CGL emerged as the best choice for several reasons:

  • The pride and prestige associated with certain SSC jobs
  • A decent salary
  • Job security
  • A better work-life balance
  • More time to spend with family (or at least I believe so)

While there are significant issues with the CGL exam process, I’ve committed to this path, and I’ll deal with whatever challenges SSC throws my way.

You can’t have the best of both worlds.

Note: I don’t regret my journey as an Engineer. In fact, I’m proud to be an alumnus of DTU. Those four years were probably the best of my life. DTU has given me so much, and I’ll always be grateful for that.

What is the total approx fees of DTU for B.Tech Information Technology??

I
InvisibleInkslinger Posted On : April 3rd, 2026

For the B.Tech in Information Technology at DTU, the total fees for the first year is roughly 2.29 lakhs. This covers tuition and other necessary charges. I believe it's a good value given the college's reputation for placement, especially with companies like Microsoft and Nvidia visiting for recruitment. Plus, there are several scholarships available for students from low-income families, which can help ease the financial burden.
