Techno India University in Kolkata is famous for its engineering and management programs. The BBA course is a 3-year full-time course. Students with 60% in their 10th and 12th exam are eligible to apply for admission. The course focuses on the knowledge of the functional areas and interconnections of the company. It develops students’ practical managerial skills, communication skills, and business decision-making capabilities. They give importance to the student’s practical approach in constructing case projects, presentations, and experience taking part in internships and industrial training. The fees of BBA is 1.55 lakhs.

Placement Details:

• Placements are above average, almost 40% of students were placed from the BBA department.

• The top recruiters include Ernst and Young, Hewlett-Packard Company (HP), ICICI Bank, McKinsey and Company, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, IBM, Deloitte, Sony, and Nokia.

• The highest salary package offered was 10-15 lakhs per annum. The average is 6 lakhs per annum and the lowest being 4 lakhs per annum.

Birla Global University in Bhubaneswar offers a 3-year full-time BBA course. The program consists of -

It emphasizes mainly on the problem-solving skills and development of business skills. The minimum eligibility criteria are 50% in the 12th examination. The total tuition fees for 3 years is 6,00,000.

Placement Details:

Over 20 companies have visited Birla Global University during the 2018-2020 placement program. Top recruiters include Deloitte, ITC, BIJU’s, Britannia, Federal bank, Redington, Future General, Cease Fire, etc.

Both the colleges are equally good and popular among students, if the location is not your major concern you could choose to study in any of them. Both have a good reputation and placement possibilities. More or less similar companies visit both the colleges during the placement program.

NIT Meghalaya is ranked 68th among the engineering colleges in India by NIRF Ranking 2019. The placement record of this institute is quite good by providing almost 90% placements every year. 

NIT Nagaland is one of the 30 NITs in India by having its campus and providing all its students’ requirements. The institute ranks 151 by NIRF Ranking and provides nearly 80% placements every year. 

Admission process:

NIT Meghalaya

• The minimum eligibility criteria to apply for BTech is 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 75% marks. 
• The candidates have to pass the JEE Main exam followed by a JoSAA counselling to get admission.
• The cutoff required is 10930 - 29211.
• The fee required is INR 5.68 LPA. 
• The total intake is 646.

NIT Nagaland

• The admission process for BTech is a minimum of 75% marks in 10+2 along with JEE Main.
• The final selection requires JoSAA counselling conducted by the institute. 
• The cutoff required for admission is 1338 - 3011.
• The fee required for admission is INR 4.8 LPA.
• The intake for admission is 205.

Placements:

NIT Nagaland hosted over 12 recruiters from various sectors of the industry. NIT Meghalaya witnessed the participation of 102 recruiters. 

Both these institutes offered 105 placement offers in top-quality companies. The department of CSE got the highest placement in both the institutes. 

The top recruiters are Infosys, L&T Infotech, Byjus, Qualcomm, Amazon, Wipro, IBM, Accenture, TCS, etc.

Faculty:

The faculties of both these institutes are always there for the students to clarify the doubts. They always motivate and inspire the students in all possible ways. NIT Meghalaya consists of 80 faculties while NIT Nagaland consists of 45 faculties. 

Campus life:

The library of NIT Meghalaya has a collection of 13000 books on various topics. There are 5 hostels for boys and 2 for girls with a capacity of 460 and 140 respectively. 

NIT Nagaland has six hostels with each having a capacity of 60 students.

Both NIT Meghalaya and NIT Nagaland provide above 80% placements like other NITs. Hence, it can rightly be said that both these NITs will be more than a right place for studies and placements for the students in the long run.

If your main goal is to study economics, maths and statistics then opting for IPM at IIM Indore would be a very good idea. However, the fee structure is very high. INR 4,00,000 per annum for domestic students and for international students, it is INR 6,00,000.

You will also have to study subjects which you will necessarily not like such as sociology, psychology, etc.

Another drawback is that there is no degree for IPM. You will only get a certificate from IGNOU.

In the case of NIT Allahabad, it is a reputed institute for engineering. You will be able to study subjects that meet your interests. The fees are also very less. In the placement drive of 2020, the highest package offered to the students was INR 49 LPA. Some of the top recruiters were IBM, Adobe, Accenture, Tata Steel, Capgemini, etc. The average package was INR 10.28 LPA.

The wise choice would be to go with your interests or the location which would be favorable for you as both these universities are really good. Still, to choose any one of them, let's have a look at the following points:

Pondicherry University:

• The university has a NIRF ranking of 87. It is well known for its campus and outstanding faculties.
• It has well-maintained and equipped labs, a highly recognized international network, and a friendly environment.

IISER Berhampur or Tirupati:

• IISER mainly focuses on quality education and for physics major students this is the most important criteria.
• They are well known for their placements and industrial exposure.

As both the universities have their own advantages and disadvantages, choosing any one of them can get quite hectic. If you are comfortable in getting into newer institutes then you can go with IISERs. But according to the alumnus, for undergraduate studies colleges do not matter that much, it depends on you individually, anyways no matter whichever College you choose they will have few drawbacks, you have to make sure that you work hard, grab opportunities and make the best out of them.
