Is it for sure that I will get a call from Great Lakes, Chennai at 97.78 percentile in CMAT and having 17 months of experience?

PT

Great Lakes Chennai admissions are done on a variety of factors and CMAT scores and work experience alone cannot determine your admission chances. The students are evaluated in a holistic manner on the basis of the following parameters

  • profile
  • academic records in school
  • extra-curricular involvement
  • social service activities
  • admission write-ups

Your high percentile of 97.78 increases your chances of admission but does not guarantee it.

How is Asutosh College for a B Sc honors in physics What about the admission process?

DR
Dhruv Roy Posted On : October 25th, 2021
B.Sc Physics from University of Calcutta (2017)

I have a few friends from Asuthose College. Here are their insights regarding the Physics department.

  • Faculty- Ashutosh College has a fantastic faculty. Both in terms of qualifications and knowledge. But keep in mind that a good qualification does not guarantee that a person will be a good teacher. This is where Ashutosh College falls short.
  • Campus life- If you’re searching for a campus life similar to that of Jadavpur University, Ashutosh College is not for you. Even if there is no college campus, but you can still experience a taste of campus life.
  • Alumni- Despite being a middle-ranking college in Kolkata, Ashutosh College has consistently produced excellent students. Many of them have a JAM rank of 50 or higher. Many of them are enrolled in renowned Indian and international institutions.
  • Labs- The labs are the worst aspect of the department. Instruments are outdated reason being lack of funds for state colleges. The facilities are not very good.
  • Connectivity- Keep in mind that you will be doing the majority of your studying from home while at CU, so choose an institution that is close to your house and has metro access. Ashutosh college is located near Jatin Das Park metro.

Overall, Asutose College is a decent option for pursuing B.Sc in Physics, if you have no other options.

How do I get direct admission in VIT Pune?

SD
Senjuti Dasgupta Posted On : October 16th, 2023
B.Tech Computer Science, Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (2021)

Firstly you need to determine the department you are interested in. You can choose between branches like CSE, IT, ECE, Mechanical, and EE as per your inclinations.

  • Qualifying Examination: You should have completed their 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized board/university with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • Marks Required: If you are a general category candidate, you should have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in the 12th standard examination.

Apart from scoring more than 50% in your PCM class 12th, you also have to appear in any exam MHT-CET OR JEE Mains. Then You need to apply through DTE’s CAP rounds.

Hope this helps you!

Could anyone explain how CBSE students get admission to Anna university?

KS
Karan Singh Posted On : December 5th, 2022
BE in Electrical Engineering, Anna University, Tamil Nadu, India (Graduated 2018)

In Anna University counseling, CBSE students are not given any special consideration. Officially, they claim that CBSE students' grades are moderated, but the process is as follows. They take into account the highest mark obtained by a student in that subject across India. Because it will be 100, if you get 85, your grade will not change.

The CBSE cut-off is calculated in such a way that,

((Mathematics marks) + ((Physics + Chemistry marks)/2))

As a result of the cut-off calculation, CBSE students are always at a significant disadvantage when competing with state board students. Even if a student achieves 95 in each of the three subjects, the cut-off is 190, which is low when compared to state board students.

The following are some of the other options:

SSN has its own meritorious management quota. If you are chosen, you will be subjected to a test and an interview.

Many other colleges, such as Loyola and Rajalakshmi, provide meritorious management seats that you can apply for.

Why is it said that IIM Calcutta gives a second chance to the students whose academics are not good to shine again in life?

KI
Kainaz Irani Posted On : December 20th, 2022
MBA in Master of Business Administration Degrees, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (Graduated 2020)

According to popular perception, IIM Calcutta places a high value on CAT scores, so you can overcome your previous academic failures and gain admission to a tier 1 MBA college by working hard on the CAT.

The reality, however, is quite different. People who have done well in CAT are generally people who have done well in academics in the past, i.e. 10th and 12th grades. This is because the basics are retested in CAT if you put in the effort back then. So the only thing you can get away with in IIM C is your graduation score. However, some top companies use this to shortlist candidates for summer placements.
