How is night life of students in IIT Guwahati?
The nightlife of the students at IIT Guwahati varies depending on the students. At IIT Guwahati most of the classes and labs are completed by 5:30 pm, after which students can spend their time as they want. Many indulge in sports, drama, and theater to club activities, etc. There are different categories of undergraduates and postgraduate students and the nightlife varies accordingly.
A lot of students practice dancing in the dance room, play music in the new SAC till 1 am. The food court is another place where students hang out during nighttime. You can also take a stroll on the campus or hang out with friends beside the lake. Apart from this some students also prefer to spend their nights playing sports such as football, lawn tennis, basketball, squash, etc. Canteens generally at nights keep swarming with students and this frequency doubles up during the exam times.
The library remains open till 2 am and one can find Ph.D. and Mtech students there at night busy with their lab experiments, projects, and thesis writing. Many students also stay in their rooms or lab.
Is Asansol Engineering College best for engineering?
Asansol Engineering College is a good option, if you aren’t getting NIT or IIT. It is a private college with good infrastructure. Asansol Engineering College placements are also good. According to the recent placement drive, students receive an average CTC of around INR 2.5 LPA. While the highest CTC goes up to INR 4 LPA. Companies such as Wipro, Tech Mahindra, IBM, etc. visit the placement drive.
The institute has an excellent campus as well.
Which is better, SOE or CUCEK in CUSAT?
I know a little about these courses as a few of my friends are currently pursuing them. Here are some of the information regarding SOE and CUCEK in CUSAT.
- There has been no report of difference in placements of both SOE and CUCEK in CUSAT.
- The education system and course curriculum have a little bit of difference but it basically revolves around the laboratory examination and infrastructure.
- The laboratory examinations are very serious and strict in SOE. The infrastructure is less developed for CUCEK.
- The campus of SOE is developed more than CUCEK although the location of CUCEK is very beautiful.
- The strength of CUCEK is less than SOE and this enhances peer learning. Due to fewer students in CUCEK, the students know each other and enjoy more. Students at SOE also have numerous enjoying moments but the students are divided into groups.
- SOE offers one of the famous programs that is Safety and Fire engineering. It has great recruiters and amazing placements.
- The departments such as Mechanical, IT, Electronics and CS at both of these are equally potent and good.
- For electrical and civil, SOE is better than CUCEK due to bad infrastructure at CUCEK.
- The major mass recruiters include TCS, Wipro, Aricent, Standard Chartered, L&t, etc.
If you have a better option than CUSAT then you should look for that option but if this is the only good option, then go for it.
What is the placement status at IIM Kozhikode?
According to the IIM Kozhikode placement report 2023, the placement rate was 100%. Around 123 recruiters visited IIM Kozhikode, including 35 new recruiters, to offer jobs to a batch of 556 students. The average package stood at INR 31.02 LPA and the average package for the female students was INR 31.92 LPA. The highest package offered was INR 67.02 LPA.
In 2023, there was a 70% increase in the number of offers in the BFSI domain. Also the number of offers in the General Management domain increased by 136% compared to the previous year.

Pros:

Cons
- Most people will have a notion that you are either too rich and got through donations or you had no other choice.
- The crowd also has students who are involved in bad habits. If you become a part of them, you may end up ruining your career.
- The facilities do little to teach students and set very challenging question papers.
Overall the pros clearly overshadow the cons so you can overlook them and consider joining MIT without any hesitation.
What are some must-have experiences at IIT Guwahati that you would recommend your juniors to experience?
One of my cousins shared a very adventurous experience at IIT Guwahati and she highly recommended every IIT Guwahati to try this once in their life. Visible right from the campus, you can see a mountain peak. She along with her friends decided to climb the mountain and teach the top of it. Although it seemed impossible they embarked on this journey with full confidence and determination.
The journey was indeed tiring with thorns, slippery soil, and rocks becoming major obstacles. But their determination took the better of them and they finally made it to the top. The exhilarating feeling of accomplishment thrilled them to the bone. They were in awe at the spectacular view and the fresh air. They even had snacks and rested there for an hour.
Here are a few things you can keep in mind if you plan to executive this trip one day.
- Wear a full sleeved jacket, track pant, and shoes
- Carry water bottles and some snacks
- Bring a strong stick for support
- Climb only if you are confident
Many may not consider it safe, and rightly so. But the outcome is too great to be missed.
What are some helpful tips for students starting their first year at MNNIT Allahabad?
My elder brother is from MNNIT Allahabad so I am quite aware of its pros and cons.
- Never mess up your pointers. A 9+ pointer will help you get internships, jobs, and ahead in your career. Furthermore, a higher pointer indicates that you have studied that subject, which implies that your fundamental knowledge of the subject is solid.
- Make personal notes on all subjects every year. Your exams will comprise the teachings in your class. It will also assist you in better understanding the subject.
- Maintain a cordial relationship with all the professors, their help will be required in every step while in the college.
- Improve your communication skills by learning English. It will assist you in obtaining a good job because every company values good communication skills.
- Develop an area of interest, do some good projects under professors, and it will help you in the future with jobs and higher education.
- By the end of the first year, make sure you find your goal in life. It can be GATE/IES or maybe CAT, core jobs/consulting jobs, higher studies, Civil Services, etc. Take a decision and be on your toes. Start working on it.

Which Amrita branch is better for CSE, Amritapuri or Coimbatore?
Amrita CSE — Amritapuri (Kerala) vs Coimbatore — a question many Amrita applicants struggle with. Here's the honest comparison.
Amrita Coimbatore (main campus, Tamil Nadu):
- Largest campus, best placement infrastructure. Placement rate CSE: ~78-82%.

What are changes made or added in NSIT after it became NSUT?
NSIT (Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology) became NSUT (Netaji Subhas University of Technology) in 2018. As a result of this change, a few key changes were made to the institution:
- NSUT transitioned from being a college to a full-fledged university. This means that it now has the autonomy to offer undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees, as well as conduct research.
- Students now get an NSUT degree instead of a DU degree.
- The intake has increased drastically.
- The course offered at the UG level now is BTech instead of BE.
- The infrastructure is being improved and an additional canteen is under the way.
- The curriculum was updated to include new courses and specializations, such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.
- The university also established new research centers and labs to support its academic and research programs.
- The university also expanded its campus, including new academic buildings and sports facilities.

Which college should I choose for CSE: BIET Jhansi, KNIT Sultanpur, MMM Gorakhpur or JSS Noida?
Among all the mentioned colleges, MMM Gorakhpur is the best.
JSS Noida is a private college and all the other three colleges are government colleges. So, choosing a private UPTU college over a government college does not make sense.
Now, when you make a comparison between the other three government colleges i.e. BIET Jhansi, KNIT Sultanpur and MMM Gorakhpur, MMM Gorakhpur steals the show.
It is highly recommended because of the following reasons:
- Highly experienced faculty members
- Good and proper facilities
- The beautiful campus which is spread over 360 acres.
Alumni of MMM Gorakhpur are in India as well as in other countries working at prestigious positions. The institution has been given the status of a university from a college and there are proposals for it to be promoted to an NIT or an IIT. It can be said that MMM Gorakhpur has a bright future.
