Is PTU a good university?
As a university, PTU is good enough but if you want to take other aspects into account such as the campus, then keeping your options open would be a good idea. Someone I know has completed her MBA from PTU and in her opinion, the institute is entirely immersed in academics which is not bad per se but there are hardly any extra-curricular activities and events going on. The faculty is also subpar in their abilities.
In the case of engineering, the students are known to memorize everything instead of understanding the concept. There are always exceptions, though. The placement scenario in PTU is also not that great. The average CTC offered at the institute is 5 LPA. However, the colleges under PTU are more popular than the main campus.
How is University of Kerala?
University of Kerala doesn’t conduct the examinations on time. Publication of results is often delayed as well. This creates problems if you are planning on applying for competitive examinations or higher studies. Curriculum followed by the university is theory-oriented, even for engineering branches. Kerala University needs to maintain the academic calendar in a timely manner.
Should I go for DTU for mechanical or IIIT-Delhi for ECE?
I have friends in both the colleges DTU and IIIT Delhi so I can give you a comparative analysis of these colleges
- IIIT Delhi charges almost double the fees of DTU, so if you have financial constraints, DTU is a better choice.
- IIIT Delhi has a rigorous campus life and heavy workload sparing no time for extracurricular activities.
- DTU students score better CG even though they are involved in many nonacademic activities. A high CG score is crucial for MS or further studies and even more so during placements.
- IIIT Delhi has a smaller batch size so it's easier to become part of any cultural competition because of quantitatively fewer people competing for the same.
- DTU has a bigger campus and better infrastructure than IIIT Delhi which operates from a tiny campus.
- Except for core electronics, you can almost pursue any career as a DTU student because of the free time you have. The mechanical societies of DTU are excellent.
The choice between the two is a matter of personal goals and inclinations.
Should I go for B.Com (P) from Motilal Nehru College or Shaheed Bhagat Singh (E) College?
Motilal Nehru is a morning college whereas Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) has both morning and evening colleges.
At first, you will have to decide your preference for the timings. One of my friends graduated from Motilal Nehru College (Day) and has had flatmates studying in evening colleges. According to him their routines were completely different. So, the choice completely depends on you and which time of the day you are comfortable with.
Motilal Nehru has a competent faculty, with spacious new buildings, library and good placements. They also have active societies such as Enactus, DebSoc, Archon Leadership Cell and others.
Another benefit of being in Motilal is that it is located in the South Campus and is always crowded. This crowd attracts the building of proper hangout places. Its Satya Niketan market offers good places to eat and good coaching centers.
On the other hand SBSC (E) would only give you the benefit because of its past reputation, good sports infrastructure and its proximity to Select City Walk.
Therefore make an informed decision as this will be motivated towards the shaping of your career.
What is the current ragging scenario at Manipal University?
There is no need to worry about ragging at Manipal University as it follows a strict 0% ragging policy on the campus. The points below state some of the incidents faced by candidates in the university that would clear the picture of ragging in the institute.
- Wardens are very strict in some blocks in the hostels. The rules are so strict that students from other blocks feel terrified to enter.
- There are incidents of fun in the hostels of Manipal University, in the names of ragging. One night around 11:30 PM, a group of senior students entered the rooms of juniors and locked the doors. Some of them created a panic situation among the students and left the rooms. Just at 12:00 AM, they entered the room again with friendship bands and wished Happy Friendship Day to juniors.
- The seniors are very interactive and helpful. During technical club fests, meets, etc, senior and juniors get to interact a lot among them. Most seniors are very friendly and help their juniors at times.
As evident from the above points, the situation of ragging in Manipal University is actually fun and interactive. Although not 0%, but most of the incidents of ragging are based on creating a good relationship between juniors and seniors in the university.
Which university is better Utkal University or Ravenshaw University?
To pursue UG courses, Ravenshaw University is one of the best options. Ravenshaw is one of the oldest and premier institutions in Odisha and currently it is at the top in Odisha for providing UG courses. The infrastructure of this university is very beautiful and all the departments of this university are well designed to give a nice atmosphere to the students to study and create a learning environment.
However, if you are talking about postgraduate courses, then it is not wise to compare the institute as a whole. Rather it will be better to find out about the course you are interested in. Look for lecturer profiles, field exposure, course studies, etc.
How good is PSG Institute of Management for an MBA? What is the latest placement data?
PSG Institute of Management is a good college for pursuing an MBA if you want to give yourself a platform to showcase your skills and learn a few new skills during the education process. The college will definitely encourage you to pursue your career goals. However, if you compare it to other B-schools located in Delhi, Mumbai or Bangalore it has a less diverse peer group.
Higher Studies:
The college also offers a separate course to the students who are willing to continue their higher studies in this field after graduation in some foreign university in USA or Canada or Germany etc. The college does not reveal the placement data.
Placements:
I have a friend who is an alumnus of the institute, according to him the average CTC offered at the institute is 4 LPA and the highest goes up to around 11 LPA. The placement average for his batch (2016-17) was around 90-95%. Some of them got double offers as well. Sales roles are the most common role which is offered to students here.
Finally what is your expectation from the institute is what defines if the college is good for you or not. Overall it is a good institute when compared to other management colleges affiliated with Anna University.
How do I get admission in NSIT Delhi?
NSUT Delhi admits B.Tech students through the JEE Mains and JAC Delhi exams.
For students who have cleared their 12th exam or equivalent from Delhi, there is an 85% seat reservation. The remaining 15% of seats are left for an All India quota. Alongside this, NSUT Delhi follows the normal reservation scheme as per the Government of India rules.

Following are the scholarships offered at BITS Pilani campuses:

The Department of Instrumentation and Control Engineering at NIT Trichy has fifteen permanent faculty members with teaching and research interests that cover a broad range of fields. The department consists of six well-equipped laboratories which are attached to the curriculum development. Additional four research-oriented labs are present in the department. All laboratories are very well established with adequate facilities.
Instrumentation and control engineering is a diverse field and offers scope in various fields. ICE at NIT Trichy enjoys placement good enough to be considered in top 5 branches.
