How is life in KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, especially in the mechanical branch?

RG
Rajesh Gupta Posted On : January 6th, 2023
Studied at Somaiya Vidyavihar

KJ Somaiya College of Engineering is simply amazing, with the best campus and faculty. Excellent football field, badminton court, table tennis, carrom, and so on. Simple to reach. The canteen is reasonably priced and serves delicious food. Every event over there will be enjoyable for you.

Because your branch is mechanical, the crowd may differ, but all of the students there come from good families. Because of the cutoff, the Mechanical crowd is generally smarter than other branches.

There are many things you can do with your studies, such as joining a team that builds something. Orion Racing creates race cars, Redshift Racing creates ATVs, Onyx creates aircraft, and Team Eta creates fuel-efficient vehicles. You can also create your own project if you don't want to join anything.

SD
Soham Dey, Posted On : November 10th, 2021
studied Electronics at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (2017)

One of my friends studied at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) Amritsar. According to him, the environment is really good, green and clean.

  • It has a well-maintained infrastructure. There are big classrooms, auditoriums and renovated hostels for both boys and girls.
  • GNDU Amritsar has an experienced faculty who are known to be very cooperative.
  • The course curriculum is also good as it familiarizes students with the current industry trends.
  • GNDU Amritsar B.Tech placements are really good. Both on-campus and off-campus placements are held.
  • Students maintaining a good overall performance get recruited by top IT firms and organizations.

Other departments like Chemistry, Law, Political Science, Food and Technology, Architecture are really good. There is no union of students like a political body makes it a bit better. Very few cultural programs take place here. The library is the most peaceful part of the campus and is accessible to all the students anytime.

How is Karunya University girls and boys life?

SP
Sreeja Prasad Posted On : October 4th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering,Karunya University (2020)

College life at Karunya University is the same for both boys and girls. You will have to follow the dress code, attendance, and morning prayers.

When it comes to hostels, girls and boys have different rules. Overall rules for girls are more strict. Girls have curfews around 6-6:30. Boys can stay outside for longer. You will also be under CCTV surveillance on campus.

Overall, if you choose your friends wisely, you can have a good time during your stay at the institute.

What was your experience of studying at IIM Sirmaur?

BV
Bharvi Vyas Posted On : January 18th, 2023
PGP in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur (Graduated 2019)

My brother was a part of the batch that suffered from covid regulations. Although the first year was online, the second year was totally virtual. Other than online classes one major hardship his batch faced was the internship offer getting revoked. Narrating his experience, he told me that

  • the initial days were very enthusiastic and filled with thrill. Throughout the day, formal inductions were conducted and esteemed guests from the industry enlightened the students about the dos and don'ts of the College.
  • Other activities included students getting enrolled to various clubs and committees which required interviews.
  • The pedagogy comprises the case study, preparation, and guest lecture. You have to make presentations and also discuss the slides in front of your batchmates
  • Interacting with peers from various walks of life is itself an enriching experience. You can use this opportunity to grow.
  • The student-driven culture allows you to manage and organize various events. You get maximum exposure through managing the budget, learning the operation of event management, networking with the right set of guests, and having close interaction with them.
  • Owing to its vicinity to many cities you get to explore places like Dehradun, Maclodgangj, Dharamshala, and Chandigarh. You can also take road trips down to the Himalayan lane.

Overall the experience was a really good one and my brother made some amazing college memories.

How is life at Ranchi University?

RM
Ritika Mitra Posted On : October 13th, 2021
M.A. Journalism and Mass Communications, Ranchi University

I have a friend who is pursuing her MBA from Ranchi University. She is not happy with the facilities offered at the institute. This university doesn't provide modern facilities and students don't get much exposure while studying in this university.

The faculty of this college is not good. Often the syllabus remains unfinished. The management and the staff of this university are not cooperative. In this university, the results of a semester are sometimes declared so late that the classes of the next semester have already begun.

The placement scenario of this university is also very poor as very few companies visit the campus for interviews and recruit only a few students whereas most of the students remain unplaced and have to look for job opportunities off-campus. In the recent placement drive, the highest CTC offered was 3 LPA.

How is food at NIT Agartala?

PC
Pradeep Chowdhuri Posted On : September 18th, 2023
Studied at NIT Agartala

NIT Agartala has a variety of food options less for vegetarians and more for non-vegetarians.

  • The mess food like any other college isn’t good at all and you will have to tolerate it somehow. Usually, paratha or Puri made with some watery chana or daal is served for breakfast, rice is served for lunch, and for dinner, you have options of both Chapati and Rice. For lunch and dinner, there will be two curries. You will have paneer, egg, fish, and chicken as well. Occasionally they serve salad and sweets as well.
  • There is a separate South Indian mess for South Indians that serves the best food in terms of taste, price, and hygiene. The menu contains items like Idli, dosa, uttapam, bonda, vada, poori, parotta, biryani, fried rice, pulao, and occasionally dishes like pulihora, upma, bajji, curd rice, etc.
  • Eateries like College Point and Spicy Hut serve very good food at subsidized rates. Here, you can eat tandoori roti, tawa roti, rice, biryani, and a wide variety of curries in both veg and nonveg categories. Other famous eateries include Gagan, Dipankar da, Amul Shop, and Babul da.
  • Located in close proximity to the admin blocks the Foodies, serves only veg food. This place charges a bit higher than others and is open only during the day.
  • NIT Agartala has many other small canteens where you can have a full meal at low prices.

So, there are many food options here catering to all kinds of taste buds!

How is the M.Tech life in JNTUH Hyderabad?

JP
Jiten Pradhan Posted On : August 8th, 2023
Studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2020)

Life as an M.Tech student at JNTUH is quite satisfactory. We usually have 3  classes a day of 90 minutes each, for 2 semesters. We get the other 12 months for our project work. The classes are held for 5 days a week and 75% attendance is compulsory. Lab hours vary according to the respective department.

Most of the teachers are friendly, supportive, and highly qualified. The students mostly get placed in the 2nd semester itself with a package of at least 4 LPA.

The JNTUH infrastructure is well-maintained. The library has all the important books. The campus is green and the hostels are well-maintained especially the newly built ones. The sports infrastructure is also good. You can play Basketball, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Football and Cricket. There is a floodlight facility as well. Almost every evening, students can be spotted playing football on campus.

Thus, the M.Tech life at JNTUH is quite good and you won’t regret taking admission over here.
