SS
Surya Swaminathan Posted On : June 14th, 2021
B.Tech from Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India (2020)

Hostel life in Thiagarajar College of Engineering was a very liberating experience for my cousin who is an alumnus of this institute.

  • He became a more mature and confident individual in the hostel. His time management improved.
  • Apart from this valuable learning experience, there is wifi connectivity all over the premises of the campus.
  • The laboratory facilities are good and there is little to no restriction in the college.
  • The only rule is to have a minimum attendance of 75%.
  • Most of the teaching staff are alumni of IIT-M and NIT in Tamil Nadu.
  • Since the institute is away from the city, the atmosphere of the place is peaceful.

You can surf the internet and attend online lectures in the computer centre in the institute. The institute has become an SOP or Single Point of Contract with all the IITs which will help you in achieving online certificates which can be instrumental in getting placements. Placements are above 90% in the institute.

  • Every Wednesday is a day kept aside for extra-curricular activities.
  • Students participating in the NSS and NCC compete for awards like the Anna University Awards every year.
  • There is a stadium for practicing sports and a gym for the students.
  • There are also clubs in the college like the yoga club, fine arts club, visual club, short film club, and so on.
  • There are clubs related to academics as well like the ACM, energy club, robotics club, IEEE club, IE club, etc.

There are some rules in the hostels like the students must return by 9:30 PM. On weekends, students are allowed to roam around Madurai.

Why do students choose FMS Delhi?

SS
Sunil Singh Posted On : December 31st, 2022
MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi (Graduated 2021)

By choosing FMS Delhi do you mean just choosing FMS or choosing FMS over other top B Schools like IIMs? The answer remains the same for both. People who choose FMS over other B Schools are aware of the certain advantages that cannot be availed at any other B School.

One of my cousins wrote the CAT in 2018 and got selected in almost all the B Schools other than IIM Calcutta. She was overwhelmed yet she had no dream school in mind. That’s when she started inquiring about FMS. She reached out to alumni of top B-schools and mentors. She also asked herself questions like

  • What do I want from a B-school? ( Placement opportunities, campus life, exchange programs, etc..)
  • What are my priorities?
  • What would I wish to do after 10 years?
  • How am I going to fund my B-school education?
  • What do I seek from a corporate job in the future?

Once she had the answers to these questions in her mind, she knew FMS would be best for her. The excellent placements with the lowest fees were too good an opportunity to miss. FMS also gives the freedom to choose and pursue anything going further.

When people choose FMS over other IIMs it’s not because it’s better than them. It’s because it suits their needs best. So choose what is best for you, not best for everyone. Don’t fall into the trap of rankings and let your decision be fueled by them.

CMC Vellore's college life is rigorous and challenging, with a strong emphasis on academics. However, there are also a variety of extracurricular activities and events that take place throughout the year, such as cultural and sports fests, as well as clubs and societies that students can join. These can provide a fun and engaging way to get involved in the campus community and connect with other students. You will witness an amazing family-like bond between seniors and juniors.

Here are some major events that add to the vibrancy of campus life

  • Batch and inter-batch prayers
  • Batch retreats
  • Batch parties
  • Batch thanksgiving
  • Sister batch picnics
  • Hostel days
  • Alumni reunions
  • Christmas program
  • House parties
  • Onam celebration
  • Diwali celebration

You will be amazed by the lush green campus surrounded by hills. The picturesque view is worth spending time here. One unique aspect of the college is that the hostels are run by the students themselves. There is a special governing body comprising hostelers that conducts meetings to discuss important agendas like weekly menus and address the complaints lodged by the students.

Overall, CMC Vellore has a very dynamic campus life!

Placement statistics vary by branch, college reputation, individual performance, and market conditions.

Placement insights:

  • Branch Variation: CSE/IT see 40-60% higher packages than core branches.
  • College Brand: IITs, NITs, and top private colleges attract premium recruiters.
  • Individual Performance: CGPA 8.0+, internships, and project work significantly boost offers.

M.A. Environment and Development Studies, Ambedkar University Delhi (2019)

Ambedkar University Delhi (AUD) is considered to be one of the liberal universities in the country. The courses offered are engaging and the faculty members give you full support in learning and preparing for them.

At AUD imparting knowledge among the students towards social science is really unique and different. It is totally a different university with lots of opportunities to learn and grow as a student and a human being.

It has multiple campuses, most of them having good infrastructure and facilities. The best part of the university is the faculty members. Most of them are very understanding and are very helpful.

Considering academics, the university has given the choice on the course instructors to choose the evaluation methodology. Hence, the creative faculty members end up creating something dynamic which is going to help you learn and grow holistically.

Students graduating from AUD are more analytical, a bit critical, have better writing and presentation skills and improved interpersonal skills. The best part is the liberal atmosphere.

What is it like to study in the Kalasalingam University?

RK
Rohit Kalyan Posted On : January 14th, 2022
B.Tech from Kalasalingam University (2019)

One of my friends studied at Kalasalingam University. According to him the college was average but it had several improvements too, but still the institute did not change as expected. There are many things problematic with the college, these include:

  • The overall infrastructure of the campus is fine, but the hostels are not well maintained.
  • The rooms are not hygienic enough and there is always a scarcity of pure drinking water.
  • The food offered in the mess is also not hygienic nor healthy.
  • The washrooms are not cleaned regularly.
  • There is also a scarcity of bathing water.
  • No mobiles are allowed inside the campus. Laptops can be used only for educational purposes before the classes start or post 8 PM.
  • To reach your block you have to walk for almost 2 kilometers.
  • Security in the hostels are bad, often things go missing.
  • Communication skills of professors are too bad, which is a very bad influence on the students.

Therefore, it is suggested that you do not consider this institution for your studies, as it offers a very bad environment which can impact a student’s intellectual growth.

How is campus life of students at IIM Bangalore?

DJ
Devansh Jha Posted On : May 15th, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore

IIM Bangalore is known for having one of the most beautiful college campuses in India. Few of the splendid amenities are single-room accommodations, almost 24-hour eating points, best sports facilities in any of the IIMs.
The average duration of lecture hours per day in the first year is 6 hours which reduces in the consecutive years depending upon the electives chosen in each term.
Students of IIM Bangalore have a 5-day working week, with quizzes and exams scheduled on weekends as well. Rarely, extra classes are scheduled on weekends in case of mid-week offs. There are more than 25 clubs promoting academics and extracurriculars. There is one club for each specialization in addition to music, dramatics, and sports clubs. These clubs are good for socializing as well as taking a break from academics. There are excellent sports facilities, both indoor and outdoor, like badminton, basketball, volleyball, football, cricket, tennis, pool table, etc. to mention a few.
IIT Bangalore has excellent accommodation facilities that promote harmony between juniors and seniors. Students of the same batch usually are made to stay within the same blocks.

Is BIT mesra a wifi enabled campus?

AB
Arun Biswas Posted On : September 5th, 2023
Studied at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra

BITS Mesra is a large campus spread across 980 acres of land. So technically speaking, it is not practical to give access to the wifi on the whole campus. But it is easily available in the main building, library, and hostels. BIT Mesra is technologically advanced, which is also reflected in its internet connectivity.

Unlimited wifi with good internet speed is available so that you can take advantage of it for both academic purposes and personal use.
