How is the social life and sports facilities at NIT Trichy?
NIT Trichy’s administration and the overall environment were quite good sometime back. However, after a few years, things have drastically gone downhill.
A new regulation on students’ attire was put into place. However, I was shocked to notice that the security guards were not strict towards the girl students who disobeyed these orders, whereas, the boy students were strictly scolded for the same disobedience and were denied entry into the main campus.
There is a curfew on the girls’ hostel timings. On the one hand, where universities and colleges are doing away with regressive rules, the NIT Trichy administration is putting more such regressive measures into place. The hike in hostel fees is not justifiable considering how students have to face a lack of drinking water, which is one of the most basic requirements of the human body.
Social media applications like Facebook and Hotstar are banned on the NIT Trichy campus. There are timings set for using the hostel wifi. The administration is not answerable to students and student welfare is being sidelined. The institution is paying attention to its infrastructure and faculty. However, the students are being treated as secondary citizens.
Thus, the main obstacle in the social life at NIT Trichy is the administration’s behavior towards the students.
Which IIM is the best between IIM Calcutta and IIM Lucknow?
To begin with, when comparing two IIMs, the question is which is better, not which is the best.

How is the mess food at NIT Calicut?
the mess food at NIT Calicut is generally considered decent to good — one of the better NITs for food quality, largely because of Kerala's strong food culture.
what to expect:
- menu: predominantly South Indian — rice, sambar, rasam, curry, curd, appam, idli, dosa. both veg and non-veg options
- quality: generally fresh, well-prepared. students from South India and Kerala specifically tend to rate it higher
- variety: Sunday specials are usually better. weekly menu has some rotation
- for North Indian students: initial adjustment needed. North Indian items like rotis/chapatis/dal makhani are available but may not taste exactly like home. most students adapt within a month
- rates: reasonable, subsidized
compared to many NITs where mess food is a major complaint — NIT Calicut is usually not in that list. students from North India occasionally miss home food but generally manage fine. there are also plenty of local Kerala eateries outside campus for variety.
How is the student life in Nizam College Hyderabad?
Nizam College is famous for its undergraduate courses. Except for one or two, it has the best lectures for its undergraduate programs.
There are many student organizations in the college. It depends on you whether you want to join any such organization or not. You will have ample time for other activities.
The department libraries are good and the college has satisfactory laboratories and equipment.
Nizam has everything within itself but if you lookout for a movie kind of environment then you will not find it here.
How is life at AIIMS Bhopal and Bhubaneshwar?
I have a few pieces of information on life at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. My friend is a second-year M.B.B.S. student there and shared her experience of her first year.
- To begin with, she was amazed by the huge diversity of the students here as she got to interact with students from all over the country and felt the cultural differences to the core.
- The festivals break all boundaries and all the students can be seen celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, and Pongal with the same zeal. The festival celebrations are the most lively moments of college life here.
- Apart from festivals, there are many cultural fests, sports events, literary competitions, and a number of other exciting events that make your college life lively.
- There is great harmony between seniors and juniors and seniors are ever ready to help.
- The faculty is also very friendly and cooperative and the labs are equipped with the latest instruments.

How is the campus of IIT Bhubaneswar in 2020?
The campus of IIT Bhubaneswar is quite impressive. The campus is set-up in a lush green area at the foothill of Barunei far away from the main city. The climate is moderate and provides a conducive environment for students.The campus is well divided into separate Academic and Residential(Hostel) sections. The campus is sprung across a vast area and is probably among the largest IIT campuses. Hostel facilities are very good and provide separate rooms for each student. Furthermore, the food provided in the mess is hygienic and is also of adequate quality. Apart from academics, the institute also provides students with ample opportunities in recreation through sports, almost all sports facilities are available for students. The institute also conducts many annual fests throughout the whole year. These provide students with opportunities to showcase their talents across various fields. The departmental labs have been updated with the latest testing equipment. Besides, the institute also has an impressive placement record and is visited by eminent PSUs like IOCL, BHEL, BPCL including others. The college dean is strict about the rules and requires all students to adhere to the proper rules of conduct. The faculty shortage, which was in talks for quite some time, has also been addressed. Taking note of all the points it is clearly evident that the campus of IIT Bhuvaneswar is quite good and provides a conducive environment for studies as well as recreation.
How do I make the most of my 2 years at IIM Lucknow?
In my opinion, becoming a placement coordinator is the best way to make the most of the 2 years at IIM Lucknow. It lets you avail the best jobs and also you become a kind of head of the students who are just flattering you to land a decent job.
The curriculum is lacking and so are the placement scenarios. IIM Lucknow is the only IIM that never reveals the actual figures. The entire procedure is rigged and controlled by the placement coordinator. So becoming one will make your life easy as you will be scaling maximum benefits through minimal efforts.
How is life at IIIT Sri City, apart from academics? How are its campus and hostel life?
You will definitely have a great time in Sri City and probably not feel like going back home after the amazing four years you will spend here. One of my friends has experienced the amazing campus life. He got really attached to this place. You will miss your friends and having fun at 3 am in the morning.
The IFMR canteen is one place where you will eat every possible thing on the menu and not attend classes. You will also end up taking a number of spontaneous trips. Even the small nitty-gritty like not being able to stay awake during class, running around for attendance will become so ingrained in your daily life that you will end up missing them. The teachers here are more like friends instead of professors. You will also miss the happiness of getting an unexpected holiday.
Your hostel room is going to be a place of great memories. It will witness breakups, patch-ups, and you at your best and worse. Sri City and the college will become your second home.
The early morning sunrises, evening strolls around the campus as well as the petrichor of the rain right after the blistering summer in May are things you will come to appreciate. While you might enter as a frightened fresher, you will be leaving as an experienced graduate. You will learn to become independent and will have gone through some of life’s toughest lessons.
In other words, you will come to love this place so much, you will definitely have tears in your eyes as you leave from here on your last day. Some of your best days will be from IIIT Sri City.
How is life at BITS Hyderabad?
Like any other institution, life at BITS Hyderabad is full of ups and downs.
The journey towards becoming an engineering professional is filled with moments of self doubt, loneliness, fear, anxiety and the urge to go back to one’s family. There are both good and bad moments in this journey, and one feels a lot of new emotions.
BITS Hyderabad has a really good student activity centre (sports centre), a diverse crowd, intelligent and enthusiastic people all around, an affordable all night canteen, good clubs, amazing departments, fests, a pretty good infrastructure and learned professors.
All of this makes for a rich campus life, but you’ll have to be prepared to face the challenges that come along with all this.
