When it comes to pursuing an M.Tech in Chemical Engineering, choosing the right institution is crucial. IIT Bombay might be a better option than ICT Mumbai:

Research Opportunities:
While both IIT Bombay and ICT Mumbai are reputable institutions, IIT Bombay may be a better option for pursuing an M.Tech in Chemical Engineering. Its reputation, comprehensive curriculum, experienced faculty, placement opportunities, and research facilities make it a top choice for students seeking a bright future in this field.
According to my friend at IIT Ropar, the first batch of Microelectronics and VLSI Design was from 2019-2020, where there were only 10 and 7 students for the M.Tech and Ph.D. course respectively.
| Categories | Microelectronics and VLSI Design at IIT Ropar |
| Course Fee | INR 72,940 |
| Average CTC | 14.6 LPA |
| Recruiting Companies | DRDO, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, HCL, etc. |
Some industries visit IIT Ropar in the first semester and the selected students have to choose to work with them. The 2nd year project can be completed in any company also if a student wishes to. The department helps the student to find the company if the student wants and if not then he/she can do the project on the campus itself.

With this students should also complete their Graduation with at least 50% in relevant subjects.
Placements:
The training and career centre of ICT Mumbai is responsible for good career placements for students.
The placement rate of the university is almost 100%.
Companies like Asian Paints, BASF India, Black & Veatch, Cipla, DSM SOFT, Evalueserve, Exxon, Galaxy Surfactants, HONEYWELL, etc visit the campus every year for good placements.
Top recruiters of the university are BPCL, Pepsico, Reliance Industries Ltd., L&T.
The average salary offered to students for graduating in Mtech from this university is up to 4.8 lakhs and the highest salary package is offered up to 20 lakhs.
Facilities:
The university has big and spacious classrooms. All necessary facilities are available on campus. This college also provides the bank facilities, own hospital of college, sports ground and well-equipped research centre.
Teachers are well-experienced and helpful and guide students regarding their career opportunities and choices. They are knowledgeable in their respected fields and most of them are PhD holders.
Overall ICT Mumbai is a really good institute for pursuing MTech courses. All placements, facilities and faculty are really good and well maintained. The environment of the university is also friendly and engaging.
Admissions to MTech programs are done on the basis of GATE. This program is offered by the Center for Robotics and Mechatronics at IIT Kanpur. Apart from IIT Kanpur, there are several other institutes offering courses in Robotics like
Short courses in Robotics are taught at Orissa Engineering College and the Institute of Technical Education and Research.
I would say that it is not suitable for those who wish to pursue a career in research. Also, if you are hoping for good placements in any robotics company you will be disappointed. But first, weigh the benefits and drawbacks.
Pros and Cons:
Now consider the following factors that make it superior to the standard course:
This institute is the only one of its kind to offer an IT robotics specialization. That means your coding skills will undoubtedly come in handy. Other colleges place a greater emphasis on mechanical and physical aspects. So, if you're an IT enthusiast who enjoys coding robots, this is the institute for you.
The Mechatronics branch in itself is not very developed in India irrespective of whichever institute offers it. IIT Patna is a new IIT and lacks the necessary resources and infrastructure while NIT Surathkal has a very challenging curriculum for MTech Mechatronics. The breakdown is 60% Mechanical and 40% Electronics. Students from other domains find it difficult to cope with the rigorous curriculum.
Although the faculty pool comprises good professors, the placement scenario is just average. So try looking for other options or go for IIT Patna instead.
NIT Rourkela provides excellent hostel facilities for both girls and boys. Let us have a brief look at the facilities
Rooms and Accommodation - They have 10 hostels for college students. It is divided into two for both girls and boys. They do not have special facilities for postgraduate students. The rooms are spacious and need to be shared with two or three batchmates.
Other Activities – Students can enjoy their leisure time by playing outdoor and indoor games. They encourage sports like basketball, badminton, etc. The central part of the attraction is the music room, which pleases the musicians. The gym facilities are also available inside the hostel.
Food and Maintenance – They provide decent mess food, which includes non-vegetarian food, for six days a week. They Ensure cleanliness on both campus and in the hostel and laundry services are also available here
The trend of Climate Science and Technology is much higher in the Western world as compared to the Eastern world. However, China, Singapore, Japan, and Australia are among the countries that are investing heavily in the field of climate change. By mid-2020-2030, even India will understand the dangers of climate change. This is when such courses will become popular even in India.
At IIT Bhubaneswar, the data for M.Tech Climate Science and Technology placements 2023 was quite promising.

Though not as good as CSE or ECE placement statistics, it was at par with most other branches of M.Tech.
As of now, one can say that job opportunities and salary offers in the Climate Change field are not very high. In the coming years, there is a high chance that companies will look for professionals with expertise in the climate change department.
You should also consider the present situation deeply before making the final decision. As of now, this course has huge potential in the research field. However, job opportunities in the field of Climate Science and Climate Change are very limited, especially in India. Salary scopes will also differ from one university to another for any of the M.Tech branches and so you should also make comparisons with other universities.
The iMTech in CSE is a highly regarded and unique program offered by IIIT Bangalore offering excellent exposure to its students. Here are the pros and cons of pursuing this course
Pros:
Cons:
Considering everything, IIIT Bangalore will take a few more years to establish itself and therefore should only be considered if you have no better options.
The iMTech course at IIIT Bangalore is quite challenging and rigorous. The students are evaluated weekly through tests and assignments. They hardly get any free time. However, students joining this course are aware of the right and still are committed to hard work.
A friend who joined the recent batch shared her experience. The first quiz took place just 12 days from the orientation after which quizzes were scheduled for every week. She had to go through strict deadlines for completion of 50% of Python and C in just 2 weeks.
The college has a very rigorous academic ambiance helping students to become punctual and learn time management. Some energetic souls despite their busy schedules, spare time for sports, competitions, hackathons, fests, and other fun activities.
So eventually you choose the quality of life at IIIT Bangalore!
