How is an M.Tech from IIIT Delhi (ECE)?
The crowd for M.Tech ECE at IIIT Delhi usually comprises those students from tier 2 and 3 colleges who aren’t placed after their B.Tech. These students join the M.Tech program with the sole purpose of getting placed. They lack proper knowledge of the subjects for which they are chosen as TAs.
As TAs, they aren’t very helpful. Only some of them bother to solve students’ queries. The crowd lacks dedication and proper knowledge. The cooperation among themselves is weak too.
Basically, the course is decent. However, the peer group for M.Tech ECE isn’t up to the mark at IIIT Delhi.

The placement scenario at NIT Hamirpur for MTech CSE and Mobile Computing is decent. Many companies visit NIT Hamirpur every year. Both BTech and MTech students appear for similar companies with only a slight difference in packages. You can easily make it into an MNC if you have a good profile and enough skills.

- C programming is also a part of the course

IIT Guwahati's mechanical engineering department placement percentage stood at 74.73%. A few Public sector companies like Indian Oil Corporation, Nuclear Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited (BHEL), etc, have also recruited candidates. How is IIT Bhubaneswar for an MTech along with GATE preparation?
The IIT Bhubaneswar is indeed a preferable choice for Mtech along with GATE preparation. One of my friends did the same and got selected in ISRO, BARC, and NPCIL. Though, full-time preparation will not be possible as time has to be given for Mtech too. Most of the faculties are very supportive of job-seeking students, though not all.
- The best time for preparation is during the weekend when the classes are off. You can also spend a few hours daily on weekdays for the preparation after the classes.
- There is also an ample amount of free time available after the completion of each semester.
- The most inspiring aspect of pursuing Mtech along with GATE preparation is the syllabus of MTech. It covers a lot of topics such as advanced thermodynamics, advanced heat transfer, etc which are helpful for the preparation of GATE.
- Various of my friend's classmates also got selected in various organizations such as IES, IOCL, BARC, ISRO, OPSC, ONGC, BPCL, etc. The students who failed to get selected through GATE got placed through IIT BBS placement.
So, if you are thinking of preparing for GATE, along with your MTech, you should definitely go for IIT Bhubaneswar.
How is the placement in IIT Dhanbad for an M.Tech in CSE?
The Phase 1 of placement season 2022 went really well for IIT Dhanbad. The placement season commenced in December 2021. All the M.Tech CSE students got placed within a few days of Phase 1. Here are some details on their placements-
- A total of 23 students were placed in top brands, in different profiles.
- The recruiting companies were- Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Flipkart, Mathworks, Porter, Samsung Research, Florence Capital, IBM Cloud, ICICI Bank (Tech Division), Optum, IBM Data Science, Dell and Cogoport.
- The highest CTC stood at INR 44.1 LPA.
- The lowest CTC stood at INR 14 LPA.
From this data one can conclude that the placements for M.Tech CSE are quite good at IIT Dhanbad.
