What is the total cost for BA (Hons.) Economics in DTU??
DTU is a government institution in Delhi, so the fees are quite reasonable compared to private colleges.
The fee structure is divided into 4 major installments over the years. The total fees for the 4-year BA (Hons.) Economics program is around 6 Lakhs (excluding hostel fees).
If you’re fortunate enough to secure a hostel at DTU, it will cost an additional 50K per year (including mess charges).
So, in total, you can expect to complete the course for about 8 Lakhs.

What is the admission procedure for DTU??
Assuming the procedure is for UG courses:
- First, you need to take an entrance exam. If you are from India, that exam is JEE MAINS. If you're from outside India, you'll take the SAT.
- After that, check your rank and wait for the cutoff lists released by JAC Delhi.
- Register on the JAC site with all the necessary information.
- Fill in your course choices in order of preference when prompted on the site.
- As soon as your rank meets your desired course, get the allotment letter and prepare for counseling.
- In the meantime, submit the fees as mentioned by DTU.
That's how you secure admission in DTU! If you're an international student, make sure you have your DASA papers ready too.

What is the cutoff rank for BA at DTU?
Getting into the BA course at DTU can be a bit challenging due to the cutoff rank. For the upcoming admission cycle in 2025, it’s important to score well. I got lucky and got a seat because I was really keen on learning about economics and history. The environment is vibrant, with around 2000 students and a solid faculty of over 70. The quality of education here is really good, so it's worth aiming for!
Can you tell me which is better DU regular or DU SOL for a BA hons English?
If you're trying to decide between DU regular and DU SOL for a BA Hons in English, it really depends on what you're looking for. For a program-type course, DU SOL is a good choice. But if you're aiming for an honors course, DU regular is the way to go because it offers in-depth knowledge and can help you score well in your exams.
Plus, if you want to be officially recognized as a graduate and pursue other professional courses, DU SOL is a flexible option. Personally, I graduated from DU SOL last year while also taking a hairdressing course at VLCC Institute. So, if you've got plans for a professional course alongside, DU SOL might be the right fit.

Which is better for a BA Hons. Economics Hindu College or Hansraj College?
Even though both colleges hold immense prestige and boast of their academic excellence, for many, Hindu College stands ahead of Hansraj College for Economics Honors. Many students consider Hindu College to be in 4th position in terms of Economics studies, after St.Stephens, SRCC, and LSR.
Some highlights of Hindu College are-
Post-graduation studies- The students pursuing their Economics (Hons) from Hindu College get the opportunity to join prestigious institutions for further studies. To name a few-
- Oxford University, Delhi School of Economics, London School of Economics
- University of Bath, Warwick University, and other prominent universities of the UK
- IIM (including IIM Bangalore), XLRI, FMS, SP Jain, MDI, and other prestigious business schools in India
- Placements- Students are offered positions in firms such as Google, Jaypee Trading, KPMG, DE Shaw, and others. Some students even receive multiple offers
- My sisters’ batchmates (2010 graduates) are currently placed in top Private Equity firms, Top investment banks, and consulting firms of great prestige. Some secured much-revered government positions as IAS and IFS officers.
Though these are not statistical figures for an accurate comparison, the data can still provide important insight and value judgment on Hindu College.
Ultimately, it is a matter of individual preference regarding which college you choose. Both colleges offer students immense opportunities, in fact even similar opportunities, so to say.
Also, some of my friends do mention that the economics faculty at Hansraj might be better than the one at Hindu.
How is DAV College Chandigarh for doing a B.A.?
One of my friends is an alumnus of Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College (DAVC), who studied B.Sc. Here is his experience in brief.

- The admission in the B.A. program, based on merit and seat availability.
- The infrastructure of the college is also decent.
- As a BA student, you will have the opportunities to prove yourself in academics and co-curricular activities.
- The competitions, parties, etc. will make you more comfortable speaking in public.
- The library is great and so is the overall environment on campus.
- Doing BA from DAV college can be a great option if you are interested in the Civil Service examination.
DAVC is an ordinary college, but it is an excellent institute for pursuing an undergraduate degree.
