What is the fee structure of Jadavpur University B Tech?
Pursuing a course at Jadavpur University is quite affordable, as opposed to other universities. It is incredible to believe that a university that ranks among the top 15 engineering colleges of India, costs less than most universities around the nation.
Here is a brief highlight of different fees in JU.
- Tuition fees: Rs. 2400 per year
- Refundable Caution Deposit: Rs 2500 (One time)
- Hostel fees: Rs. 1000 per month (It includes different kinds of vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals as well)
- Examination fees: Rs. 60 to Rs. 70 per semester
- Library Fine (if a book is submitted late): 6 Paisa per day for some books and 50 Paisa per day for others.
This was the typical fee structure followed a few years back. Recently, there can be a 5% - 10% increment regarding the same. As per the recent update, the 1st year course fee for B.Tech at JU is 2,400. You can evaluate the expenditure to be around 1 lakh for the entire B.Tech course, incorporating the tuition fees, study materials, hostel fees, mess fees, alongside other miscellaneous expenses.
On the other hand, JU has a great placement record. A typical student from the CSE department can receive an average salary package of about INR 19 LPA, while it is INR 8 LPA for departments of ECE, EEE, and IT. Lastly, the average salary package is INR 6 LPA for departments concerning Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Metallurgy, Construction, and Production.
How can I get duplicate certificate from Anna University?
If your certificates are lost or damaged, you can order duplicate copies. There are procedures in place if they are lost, such as a paper ad or a non-traceable certificate from the police. You cannot apply for duplicate certificates when the originals are available (available on the website).
You can ask the management for the certificate's return or file a police report against the college if it refuses.

How is it to have V. Balakrishnan (IIT Madras) as a teacher?
My brother is an alumnus of IIT Madras. According to him, it was a brilliant experience to have V.Balakrishnan sir as a teacher.
The experience of watching sir’s lectures is the same as watching Cosmos or listening to Feynman’s lectures. He has an amazingly strong grasp on his subject. A lot of times, teachers don’t bother to teach some of the most important derivations. Instead, they put the entire burden on the students to figure out those derivations.
Sir on the other hand, teaches his students every detail of a concept/calculation. He approaches every single problem from different angles, and each one of those angles opens a new perspective. Sir was the reason my brother decided to switch from Electrical Engineering to Applied Physics.
V.Balakrishnan sir is a source of inspiration to many students.
Are the girls living in the campus hostel of IIM Ahmadabad or IIM Indore allowed to go out of campus? If yes, till when and what are the procedures?
At IIM Ahmedabad, there are no restrictions on hostel timings, clothing, or entry of the opposite gender. Without any restrictions, all students are free to leave and return to campus whenever they want.
There are no restrictions on what students can wear anywhere on campus, including in class. The only exception to this rule is that students should dress formally for company presentations.
Students have complete freedom to visit the other gender's hostels whenever they want. Many of my friends had, for all practical purposes, shifted to their girlfriends' hostel rooms and were rarely seen in their own hostels. IIM Ahmedabad gives its students a lot of freedom and believes in the spirit of personal responsibility.
All IIM Indore students, including female students, are permitted to leave campus. There are campus buses that leave at regular intervals. One can also book their own transportation. The only restriction is that everyone must return by 11:30 pm unless there is a valid reason to be outside, such as a late-night flight.
Does IISER provide a 2-year MSc? If yes, how can I apply?

To apply you need to have a recent bachelor's degree in Physics or Engineering with first class or equivalent and qualification in either GATE or other national eligibility test such as JEST.
How do students get study material from IGNOU?
After completing your registration, you must provide your email address and phone number. You will receive a confirmation email regarding your application, indicating that it has been acknowledged.
After a month or two, you will receive a text message or email with instructions on how to retrieve your study materials. It is important to remember that the Study Center and the location where you collect your study materials (Regional Center) are not the same.
You can also send an email requesting that it be sent to your address, which you will receive approximately 2 months later. However, you must visit the Regional Center at least once to obtain your enrollment card and have it stamped.
Keep in touch with the institution via email until you receive what you require. I would not recommend making phone calls because it is always busy and difficult to get through.
What is placement scenario at IIT Patna?
IIT Patna placement 2023 has witnessed a great start with the highest salary standing at INR 82.05 LPA and the average salary standing at INR 29.30 LPA. Students received 72 PPOs and in all 281 offers were made. Some of the Top Recruiters were Amazon, Google, Adobe, etc.
Last year, students received 412 offers including 10 international offers. The highest international salary was recorded at INR 1.37 CPA and the highest domestic salary at INR 61.30 LPA.

Which exam is tougher, CDS or AFCAT?
My cousin have qualified both exams and without a doubt, CDS is the toughest one. The reason being that the CDS paper is created by the UPSC, whereas AFCAT is prepared by the Indian Air Force. So you have to think a lot when attempting CDS questions, it tests your conceptual knowledge. AFCAT touches on basic topics and is much easier.
The following points must help you in a better understanding:
- If you have a good basic knowledge of the English language, mathematical skills, GK and are updated on current affairs, then AFCAT will be a smooth ride. On the other hand, CDS will require an in-depth study of the syllabus.
- You can clear AFCAT by simply going through the previous year’s papers. If you are not able to clear it in the first go, you'll definitely do so in the second because there'll be a gradual increase in your score as well.
- Also, do a self-analysis and ask yourself whether you're good in GS or in English and Reasoning? If the former, then CDS will be easier to qualify! If the latter, then AFCAT will be your thing.

Do not pre-suppose that clearing AFCAT with SSB will clear your path to the Indian Air Force, because apparently the final cut off is quite high, so if your AFCAT score is really high, between 140-180, only then will you be able get into the permanent commission.
However, if you clear the written and SSB in case of CDS, then you'll definitely join any of the forces and get into PC.
Study thoughtfully and try to prepare with determination and an open mind.
I am planning to join PGPSM from NISM. Is it really worth to boost my career in securities market?
PGPSM from NISM is a good option if you are aiming for a career in Securities Market. But this program is different from typical PGDM programs offered by B-Schools. In this course, you will learn about shares, derivatives, fixed income markets, various software related to the financial market, etc. The course structure is flexible, you will get ample time to pursue other courses such as CFA, CS, etc.
NISM placements are good. In 2022 the average CTC and the highest CTC offered were INR 7.8 LPA and INR 13.67 LPA. Students get job offers such as Business Development Manager, Business Analyst, Wealth Manager, etc.
