FMS, without a doubt.
Do not compare FMS to IIM Indore just because it is an IIM; this is a mistake. The positions available at FMS are much better than those at IIM I. Furthermore, FMS completely dominates the field when it comes to the ideal batch size. A small batch size ensures that more candidates see the process of more companies without missing out on any opportunities, even though the roles are limited at all campuses.

• IIM Indore's well-known alumni may be alluring, but roles are typically a better metric to use when assessing a university.

For instance, both institutes use Deloitte as a common recruiter. However, the position at FMS is in the area of strategy, whereas Indore receives an IT-related position. 

• The ROI is the next significant matrix to evaluate.

Even though the current generation believes that ROI shouldn't be the most important factor to take into account, the combination of ROI and Location gives FMS an undeniable advantage over many other top campuses across the nation. As you advance year after year in the corporate world with new roles and switches, you get a better return after investing two years.

• Campus Life is an additional factor to take into account.

It is the much-discussed factor used to rank campuses. It makes no sense at all to choose IIM I just for the sake of the on-campus experience.

Had I been in your place, I would have chosen IIIT Hyderabad over IIT Hyderabad. While both colleges offer a good CS program, IIIT Hyderabad is the clear winner when it comes to CS. Consider the following points of comparison 

• IIT Hyderabad is a new IIt, so choosing it just because of the IIt tag would be a blunder.
• IIT Hyderabad is still in its development phase and its campus still needs a few more facilities to become full-fledged operating.
• IIIT Hyderabad has a better religion and brand name among the IT giants and therefore its placement scenario is way better than IIT Hyderabad.
• IIIT Hyderabad is well-known for its achievements in competitions like ACM ICPC and GSOC.

I have my cousins in both the institutes and from their discussions I have concluded that IIIT Hyderabad leads in CS opportunities.

One cannot easily choose IIM Ahmedabad over elite business schools abroad like Harvard Business Schools. But if one actually does then the main reasons could be

1. Long term market: If you are willing to work in India for the long term, then IIM Ahmedabad is for you. This is because every business school provides best access to domestic markets. So if you want to stay in India IIM Ahmedabad offers the best access throughout Indian Markets.

2. Opportunities at fairly less cost: India is a developing country and its market is slowly coming at par with the US market. So if you are looking for an investment less earn more opportunity, IIM Ahmedabad is a good option.

3. Personal Convenience: It is not an exaggeration to say the quality of life you will be experiencing in your home country with your family will never be the same as that of abroad.

So both the B Schools are fantastic options. It depends on your convenience which to choose. If you wish to stay in India, IIM Ahmedabad is for you. But if you want to explore the US market go for any elite business school abroad.

If you are currently deciding between IIT Guwahati and IIT BHU, it is important to consider several factors before making your final decision. While both institutions are highly ranked and reputable, they do have some differences that may be important to you. Here are some things to keep in mind:

1. Choose a branch based on your interests: It is crucial to select a branch that you are passionate about, rather than one that is popular or has a higher ranking. Pursuing a field that you enjoy and excel in can lead to a more fulfilling and successful career.
2. IIT Guwahati has better infrastructure: If you value modern facilities and equipment, then IIT Guwahati may be the better option for you. It is known for its advanced laboratories, libraries, and classrooms.
3. IIT BHU has better placement opportunities: If job prospects after graduation are your top priority, then IIT BHU may be the better choice. It has a strong alumni network, and more international companies tend to visit the campus for recruitment purposes.
4. Consider cultural societies: If you are interested in extracurricular activities, then you may want to look into the cultural societies at each institution. Both IIT Guwahati and IIT BHU have a range of clubs and organizations, but they may differ in terms of focus and opportunities.
5. CSE at BHU is better than ECE or Mech: If you are considering a specific branch, such as computer science, then it is worth noting that IIT BHU has a particularly strong program in this area. This may be a factor to consider if you are specifically interested in CSE.

In summary, both IIT Guwahati and IIT BHU have their strengths and weaknesses. Ultimately, the choice between the two comes down to your personal priorities and interests. If you prioritize infrastructure and facilities, then IIT Guwahati may be the better option. On the other hand, if placement opportunities and a strong alumni network are your main concerns, then IIT BHU may be a better fit. Whatever your decision, be sure to choose a branch that aligns with your passions and goals.

NIT Silchar is a far better option than both NIT Agartala and NIT Mizoram. There are a number of strong reasons that support my claim I have listed the most important ones

• Nit Silchar has an excellent placement scenario for all branches. NIT Silchar average package stood at INR 13.58 LPA, NIT Agartala median package stood at INR 7 LPA, and NIT Mizoram median package 2021 stood at INR 6.80 LPA. So NIT Silchar definitely has much better placements than the other two colleges.
• NIT Mizoram BTech was ranked 88 out of 170 in India 2023, NIT Agartala BTech ranking is 91 out of 200 in India 2023 while NIT Silchar BTech ranking is 40 out of 200 in India. The drastic difference in rankings proves that NIT Silchar is way ahead of than other two NITs.
• The rate of development is very high in NIT Silchar in every sector.
• The campus of NIT Silchar is beautiful and huge, spreading across 600+ acres. It has a better campus and infrastructure than the other two NITs.

So, it’s advisable to give preference to NIT Silchar over NIT Agartala and NIT Mizoram due to the above reasons.

There are several parameters on which one can compare BITS Hyderabad/Goa with the new IITs. Some of them are-

• Infrastructure- BITS have a much better infrastructure as compared to the new IITs. Moreover, at BITS, one gets single occupancy hostel rooms from the first year itself.

• Education- In terms of education, all the IITs, NITs and BITs are mostly at par with one another. But BITS doesn’t have an attendance criteria, unlike the IITs. This comes as a relief, especially if one is preparing for some entrance exams on the side.

• Brand Name- BITS Pilani is as big a brand as the old IITs, and BITS Hyderabad/Goa are comparable in that sense to the new IITs.

• Placements- BITS Hyderabad/Goa are slightly better at overall placements, but the scenario is better for core jobs at new IITs.

• Campus life- The campus life and senior-junior interaction is again better at BITS campuses.

The decision is yours, but you won’t regret choosing any of these colleges.
