BITS Pilani is the number 1 private engineering college in India and is one of the largest engineering colleges in Dubai. Manipal University Dubai attracts over 1500 students all over the world and has a campus that stretches over 75 acres.

Course Details:

BITS Pilani:

• It offers B.E.(Hons) in Computer Science and provides its students with an updated and industry-related curriculum.

• The CS department of BITS Pilani is in association with the MSDN and hence students are free to use the most advanced and updated tools.

• There are currently 350 students and 10 faculty members in the C.S. department. BITS Pilani has faculties from reputed institutions like IITs, IISc, and its sister branches in India, all of whom have a Ph.D. or are in the process of getting one.

Manipal University:

The university offers BTech in Computer Science, and here too the course curriculum is in tune with the current needs of the industry. The labs and classrooms are of top quality as well.

Admission:

BITS Pilani:

• Students must score 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics combined and 50% in each subject in their 10+2 in order to seek admission.

• Students must have 61 points in TOEFL and 5.0 in IELTS (not required if the student is from English medium school).

Manipal University:

• Students must secure 50% in Physics, Math, English, and Chemistry/ Biology.

• IELTS scores are accepted but not mandatory.

There are numerous scholarships offered by BITS Pilani, all of which are merit-based.

• The Tuition fee scholarship provides a maximum amount of INR 1.73 lakhs per student.

• BITSAT scholarship provides a maximum amount of 3.2 lakhs per student.

Manipal University:

• Manipal University offers merit-based scholarships based on the percentage obtained in the 10+2 examination.

• The university also provides sports scholarships.

Placements:

• Companies like L&T, Hellmann, Emirates, and Lamprell visit Manipal Dubai for placement.

• Companies like Zomato, L&T, Schneider Electric and Siemens come to BITS Pilani for recruitment.

Both colleges were established around the same time. Both colleges being two of the leading private colleges in India, their growth has been almost the same. So, choose the institute according to your convenience.

FISAT Kochi has been ranked at 96th for Engineering among Indian Engineering colleges, SCMS Cochin has been ranked 85th, Rajagiri ranked 83rd and Mar Baselios (MBCET) is ranked in the bracket of 100-125 among Indian Engineering colleges. All the above colleges are NAAC ‘A’ grade accredited colleges.

Admission Process:

• Admission to the FISAT BTech program is based on the scores obtained inKEAM/JEE Main, followed by counselling, and admission to the program through management quota is based on the rank in the merit list.
• At SCMS Cochin, admission is through counselling based on rank obtained in Kerala Engineering, Architecture, Medical (KEAM), and the same is for the Management quota.
• For Rajagiri, admission is through counselling based on the rank obtained in KEAM. Remaining seats will be filled by the Institute based on the marks obtained in 10+2.
• At MBCET, admission is through counselling based on the rank obtained in KEAM. Remaining 50% Management quota seats will be filled on the basis of entrance test and 10+2 marks (50:50)

• Accenture, HCL, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, TCS, Wipro, Vodafone, are some of the top recruiters at FISAT Kochi. The college recorded 70% placement last year for the Mechanical batch.
• Some of the top recruiters of SCMS Cochin are- IBS Software, Infosys, HCL, Infoview, MRF, MU Sigma, Mytrah Energy, UST Global, Wipro, Tech Mahindra are the top recruiters. Around 80% students got placed last year at SCMS Cochin.
• Amazon, Bosch Ltd, Cognizant, Digital Core Technology, Experis IT, GES Infotech, IBM, IBS Software, Indian Navy, Infosys, ITC Infotech, Mahindra and Mahindra are the top recruiters at Rajagiri. The college provided placement to around 90% of the CSE branch last year.
• Accenture, Genpact, Microsoft, Infosys, MU Sigma, Wipro, IBS Software, UST Global are some of the major visiting companies at MBCET. The college recorded 60% placements for its last batch.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) has existed since the inception and also one of the best departments of EEC.

Easwari Engineering College is a unit of the SRM Group of Institutions and was established in 1996. The college is affiliated to Anna University and accredited by AICTE and NBA. NAAC has graded the institute ‘A’. According to the NIRF Ranking of 2020 EEC ranks at 201 among the engineering colleges of India.

Courses:

Courses available in Computer Science and Engineering at EEC are BE, ME, and Ph.D./ MS (By Research). The total intake for the department has increased to 180 from 60 over the years.

Facilities:

The department offers state-of-art facilities for various laboratories, a well-equipped seminar hall, wifi-enabled classrooms to support e-learning, and a departmental library.

Admission and Course fee

The institute selects students for B.E and M.E through TNEA and TANCET respectively. The first-year course fee for B.E and M.E is INR 55.000 and INR 60,000.

Placement

According to the placement statistics over the years, CSE holds the best placement rate of around 90%. Many service and product/software-based companies visit the placement drive. The average CTC is 4.6 LPA and the highest CTC offered in 2020 placements is 28 LPA. Students get employed for job roles like assistant engineers, developer in companies like Accenture, Bajaj Capital, 99acres.com, Wipro, TCS, Virtusa, Coca Cola, Cognizant, HCL, Maruti Suzuki, ICICI Securities, HDFC Bank, Mphasis, Naukri.com, Sutherland, IGATE, Justdial, Zoho, Honeywell, etc.

My friend got a rank of 13471 in JEE-Main 2019 and after a lot of website research and references from other people; he has come up with the top 10 rankings for 2021:

1. IIIT Hyderabad: It has the best faculty for CSE with very hectic college life and rigorous curriculum. Placements are very good here and can be easily compared to those at the top 6 IITs, BITS Pilani, and a tad better than NIT Trichy. 
2. NIT Trichy: Undoubtedly the best NIT which is a class apart from the rest. The administration is not up to the mark, but you’ll learn to manage on your own. Also, it is supposedly better than most IITs bearing the top 9.
3. NIT Surathkal: You will get really good placements and the exciting part is that the college has a personal beach so you can enjoy it to some extent.
4. NIT Warangal: The placements are quite at par with NIT Surathkal but except for the beaches.
5. NIT Allahabad: You won’t get a happening college life or good infrastructure there but the placements are quite good. The Alumni base of the institute is also decent.
6. IIIT Allahabad: The placements are a bit better than NIT Allahabad, but are ranked lower due to its reputation and college life.
7. IIIT Delhi: You can get a good potential for research especially if you belong to the A.I domain. The branches offered are also quite unique (some similarity to those offered at IIT J, IIT H, or BITS) which will really help you to apply abroad for research.
8. NIT Jaipur: The placements are okay and it is one of the top NITs. Although if you go get in the CS branch then you’ll surely get somewhat better placements than your counterparts.
9. IIIT Bangalore: The placements are very good here but it is ranked so low because it only offers 5-year programs. The fee is also much greater in comparison to the NITs.
10. NIT Rourkela: One of the oldest colleges and finds its reputation due to the NIT tag. The alumni base and the placements are all good here.

Apart from the top 10, here are is the ranking for the remaining ones:

NIT Kurukshetra> IIIT Gwalior> NIT Hamirpur> NIT Surat> NIT Jalandhar

To sum up, every college comes with its own pros and cons. Thus, setting up your preferences might help you get a clearer opinion whether you want excellent placement, campus facilities, college life or a little bit of all.

G.I Bajaj Institute of Technology and Management, Greater Noida is ranked 57 for BTech by India Today 2020. It is affiliated to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University and has been approved by AICTE.

ABES Engineering College, Ghaziabad is affiliated to AKTU Lucknow and approved by AICTE, UGC and NAAC. They have a student strength of over 5000 students. It has a 20 years legacy in educational excellence.

AKGEC Ghaziabad is ranked 251 for BTech by NIRF 2020. It is affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University and approved by AICTE.

NIET Noida is ranked 129 for BTech by The Week 2020. It is affiliated to AKTU and recognized by AICTE. It has been accredited Grade A by NAAC. They have over 3750 seats.

PSIT Kanpur is ranked 37 for BTech by TOI 2020. It is affiliated to AKTU and CSJM University, Kanpur. It is approved by AICTE, BCI, PCI and UGC.

Admission Details 

• Students should have 60% in their 10+2 (PCM) exam.
• JEE Main rank is compulsory for BTech admissions.
• GATE is required for admission in MTech courses.
• Students can also provide UPSEE rank for BTech and MTech admissions.
• Students should have a graduation degree in the science stream from a relevant university.
• Students can apply for admission on the university’s official website.
• The selection will be based on the entrance exams.

Placements 

G.L. Bajaj 

• 163 companies participated in the placement program.
• 1720 offers were made.
• The top recruiting companies include Capgemini, Genpact, HCL, Jaro Education, Wildnet Technologies, Capital Via, etc.

ABES Ghaziabad

• 302 companies took part in the placement program.
• 1067 students registered wherein 1277 offers were made.
• 886 students were placed in top companies.
• The top recruiters include TCS, Byju’s, Wipro, Capgemini, Adobe, Extramarks, etc.

AKGEC Ghaziabad

• 797 students were placed in top companies.
• A total of 51 companies participated.
• The top recruiting companies include Accenture, HCL, Infosys, IBM, TCS, Genpact, Bosch, Wipro, etc.

NIET Noida

• 129 companies participated and a total of 1772 students were placed.
• The top recruiting companies include Oracle, KPMG, Wipro, TCS, Capgemini, HCl, Byju’s, IBM, Jaro Education, etc.

PSIT Kanpur

• 205 companies participated and a total of 1480 offers were made.
• The top recruiting companies Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, IBM, TCS, etc.

Among all the colleges PSIT Kanpur has the best placement record. If location is not your biggest concern then you can also opt for G.L. Bajaj. CSE is the most sorted out engineering course. They have a great demand in the corporate world and also in the IT sectors. CSE deals with computer programming and networking, circuit designing and writing software that powers them, program design and programming languages. The BTech and MTech courses are of 4 years and 2 years respectively.

If your need is a job right after graduation, then NITs certainly are good alternatives. In this scenario, NIT Meghalaya & Nagaland would be safer. But don't expect dream companies on-campus placements. The university of Tezpur can also offer you few IT placements, but TU placements are not comparable to the NITs.

TU will be the best choice amongst those listed if you want to learn, explore, study ECE, CSE fields. The University of Tezpur has great ECE & CSE departments. Both departments are over ten years old. In comparison with NIT-Silchar, TU's CSE faculty & labs better. TU has a strong research orientation, since many science and engineering departments exist, which is not the case for all the NITs listed. 

So, if you want placement, go for the NITs. If you want to learn and explore your field then TU is definitely the better choice.
