What should I choose and why, NITK CS or BITS Goa CS?
Since most of my friends studied at BITS Goa. It is suggested you go for it, as my friends had nothing but good things to say about the institute. According to them, it is the best institute for CS without any doubt.
- BITS Goa has no reservation policies, the peers are quite competitive, so be prepared for that.
- Moreover, the only flaw is that it can be expensive for financially weak students.
- But this institute provides scholarships which is a great solution to this problem.
- If we talk about the Computer Science department, you will get to learn a lot as it is the best program on Goa Campus.
- Furthermore, BITS Pilani and Goa have the best culture when it comes to coding.
- Besides academics, the campus is well maintained, the hostels are all hygienic and the food of mess is also appreciable.

One of my uncles is a member of the faculty of the CS department of IIT Kanpur and thus most of the information in this answer is based on what I heard from him. The CS department of IIT Kanpur is one of the oldest and is known for its cutting-edge research work. The following points entail a few areas of research that the CS department of IIT Kanpur excels at.
Cyber-security and Cryptosystems
- More than 12 faculty members are experts in this field
- Some achievements include private-key encryption algorithms for Indian Navy and Air designed by Prof. Manindra Agrawal.
- Prof. Indranil Saha who has expertise in robotics, control theory, and program analysis
- Professor Sandeep Shukla has more than 20 years of experience in cyber security of cyber-physical systems.
Theoretical Computer Science
- This department provides research opportunities in areas such as algorithm design, complexity theory, etc.

Which is better: IT at NIT Surathkal or CSE at MNNIT Allahabad in terms of placement and environment??
Two of my close friends are studying at NIT Surathkal and MNNIT Allahabad respectively and often I hear them comparing their colleges based on some aspects.
- Environment: Both NITs have a well-maintained and lush green campus. NIT Surathkal has a slight advantage because of its private beach. So, if you love beaches and swimming NIT Surathkal is for you. NIT Allahabad offers scenic views at Sangam and students enjoy taking holy baths and spending evenings there.
- Faculty: MNNIT Allahabad are very friendly and often use their native language during lectures while NIT Surathkla professors are a nit professional and never use their native language in the classroom.
- Placements : The average package of IT at NIT Suratkal is INR 23.03 LPA while that of CSE at MNNIT is INR 27.07 LPA. MNNIT Allahabad has slightly better placements although NIT Surathkal has a better location.
- Food: It may be difficult to get non-veg food in Allahabad within the hostel premises. In NIT-S, there is no such restriction and a variety of non-veg food is offered.

Which is better NSIT IT or NIT Kurukshetra CS?
A lot of factors need to be considered while choosing one between NSIT IT and NIT Kurukshetra CS. If you are someone who wants a happening and vibrant campus life, and also an active social life at clubs, malls, water parks, and all that, you need to go for NSIT Delhi because the capital has a lot of such places. It will be difficult to have a fun-filled life at NIT Kurukshetra. However, the outside life does not matter much because you will hardly have any free time to hang out. So it’s not the only criteria you should consider.
The placement scenario of both the institutes is somewhat similar and almost every company that visits NSIT visits NITK as well.A few times NSIT students did receive exceptionally good packages but that happens rarely. Overall, there isn’t much difference in terms of packages and job opportunities.

The academic environment at both the institutes is great and both have excellent and some diametrically opposite professors. NIT Kurukshetra has a better coding culture. This is because there is no outside life so the majority of students spend time in hostels resulting in intense competition among them.

Which one is better for computer science and engineering and why: VNIT Nagpur, NIT Calicut, or NIT Rourkela?
I completed my B.Tech CS from NIT Rourkela, so I can only speak for my own college.
For placements, NIT Rourkela is probably behind the other two because of its locational disadvantage. The lack of good connectivity creates difficulty for IT/software firms to reach Rourkela during placement season. Despite that, last year, the average package for B.Tech CS was Rs. INR 21.87 LPA at NIT Rourkela. This is quite a decent figure.
Moreover, I can assure you of the excellent research and infrastructural facilities at NIT Rourkela. It is probably better than the other two in this regard, and can even be compared to NIT Trichy. A good number of students from the CS department get offered foreign research internships. Some of them even end up receiving an offer for higher studies from universities in the US and Europe.
NIT Rourkela is a good option for B.Tech CS if you want to pursue higher studies, but it might not be the best in terms of placements.
Which one is better for CSE: NIT Silchar, NIT Hamirpur or UPES Dehradun?
NIT Silchar seems to be a better option for CSE than NIT Hamirpur and UPES Dehradun. Here are some unique aspects of NIT Silchar that make it stand apart from these colleges

How are the placements for CSE and ECE at BVBCET (KLE Technological University)?
KLE Technological University placements are good for CSE and ECE. Around 95% of students from these branches get placed each year. The highest CTC offered to the students of these branches is around INR 30 LPA. While the average CTC stays around INR 6.5 LPA. PwC, L&T, Infosys, Bosch, Toshiba, Google, etc. took part in the placement drive.
How good is CSE in SASTRA University?
SASTRA University is well-known for its computing branches, i.e. CSE, IT, ICT. These branches offer great salary packages and placement opportunities. In the 2021 placement drive, the highest CTC offered was 58 LPA. If you are passionate about coding and programming then it is a great place for you.
The curriculum is updated every now and then and you will have good opportunities to explore the IT Software sector. You can even get into MNCs, with a little bit of effort.
