More than 7000 students of class 10th and 12th who failed in one or two subjects in the TBSE board exam will appear for the ‘Save a Year’ exam. TBSE will declare the exam schedule soon.

Tripura's 'Save a Year' Exam

New Delhi: Over 7,000 students from Classes 10 and 12 in Tripura will appear for the 'save a year' exam. The exam is expected to be held in the last week of July 2024. The complete schedule will be announced soon.

Tripura government introduced the 'Save a Year' exam in 2020 to allow students who failed two subjects to reappear for the exam. Students need to score at least 150 marks to pass the exam. This year, 3,199 TBSE Class 10 students and 4,236 Class 12 students will appear in the 'save a year' exam.

TBSE announced the results of the Class 10 and 12 exams on May 24, 2024, with pass percentages of 87.54% and 79.27%, respectively. This year, 33,739 Class 10 students and 25,350 Class 12 students appeared for the board exams. TBSE Class 12 exams were held from March 1 to March 30, 2024, and Class 10 exams from March 2 to March 23, 2024.

Tripura Save a Year Exam 2024 Application and Schedule

As per the data, 2,042 Class 10 students and 1,385 Class 12 students have applied for a review of their exam papers. According to Dulal Dey, Secretary of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE), the exam schedule will be announced within a week.

Students must submit their application forms for the exam in their respective schools from July 8 to 11, 2024 and TBSE will collect them from July 12 to 15, 2024.

Tripura Class 10 and 12 Pass Percentage in 2024

In Class 12 exams, 39 schools recorded a 100% pass rate, while 13 schools recorded a 100% fail rate. For Class 10 exams, 310 schools had a 100% pass rate, and 16 schools recorded a 100% failure rate.

Last year, the pass percentages for Class 10 and Class 12 were 86.02% and 83.24%, respectively. In 2022, Class 10 had an overall pass percentage of 86%, and Class 12 had 94.46%. The pass percentage for Class 12 in 2023 was 11% lower than in 2022.
