Swami Rama Himalayan University (SRHU), Dehradun, Uttarakhand, has begun its application process for PhD admissions for the January 2026 session.

The last date to apply is January 3, 2026. The entrance exam for the PhD program will be conducted on January 18, 2026.

The application fee for the PhD entrance exam is ₹1500 plus applicable transaction charges.

Eligibility for the PhD program requires candidates to have a master’s degree relevant to the chosen field of study, with specific eligibility criteria varying by discipline as per UGC regulations.

Candidates should have completed a 1-year or 2-semester master’s degree after an undergraduate program and meet the minimum percentage requirements outlined by the university.

Candidates holding qualifications such as UGC/CSIR-NET, SLET, GATE, GPAT, or M.Phil are exempted from the written entrance exam but must appear for the personal interaction and interview phase.

The admission process includes a written entrance exam consisting of multiple-choice questions divided equally between research methodology and subject-specific areas, followed by a personal interaction and interview.

The final selection is based on a combined weightage of 70% for the written exam and 30% for the interview. Candidates need to score at least 50% in both stages separately to qualify for admission.

Application submission is online via the official SRHU admission website, where candidates must fill out the application form and pay the fee.

Admit cards will be available to download from January 13, 2026. After clearing the exam and interview, candidates undergo document verification before course commencement, planned for the first week of March 2026.

Tuition fee is around ₹80,000 per year, with overall program fees varying depending on the category of candidate (All India or Uttarakhand resident).
