New Delhi: Reva University, Bengaluru has revealed its plan to introduce various innovative programs, including one focused on film studies and sports science. During a press conference held on the university's Kattigenahalli campus, P Shyama Raju, the chancellor of REVA University, expressed, “We are fully prepared to assist students who are interested in film studies.

He highlighted the importance of acquiring skills in areas such as cinematography, editing, screenwriting, and direction for those aiming for a career in the film industry. He mentioned the potential benefits of collaborating with production houses, as it can provide aspiring filmmakers with valuable exposure and networking opportunities”.

The university has also announced the initiation of a program in B.Sc sports science and an athlete wellness program. Rahul Menon, the founder of 91 Sporting, expressed his thoughts on the matter, saying that while professional athletes receive psychological support at an elite level, the well-being of student-athletes is often overlooked.

Menon highlighted the significance of implementing an athlete wellness program at the university level, particularly during the formative years of aspiring athletes who are around 17 or 18 years old. He further mentioned the importance of incorporating initiatives for athletes' well-being, similar to those undertaken by associations such as SAI and the Federation of Badminton.

Menon believed that integrating such initiatives into the university curriculum would adopt an athlete-friendly approach, focusing on teaching students how to manage stress, handle finances, recover from injuries, and maintain mental wellness. He concluded by expressing his belief that these efforts would contribute to India becoming a nation that excels in sports.
