National Law University (NLU) Delhi has begun applications process for the All-India Entrance Test (AIET) 2026. This entrance exam is the gateway for students seeking admission into the university's prestigious specialized postgraduate and doctoral programs for the 2026-27 academic session.
The NLU will conduct the AIET 2026 on May 3, 2026, in an offline (pen-and-paper) mode. Eligible candidates must complete their online registration before the deadline on April 10, 2026. AIET 2026 Admist Card will be released on April 25, 2026. For the AIET 2026 registration process, National Law University Delhi has structured the application costs based on candidate categories. Applicants belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹3,000. For candidates falling under the SC, ST, and PwD categories, the university has set a reduced fee of ₹1,000. Furthermore, the institution provides a full fee waiver for BPL candidates specifically from the SC and ST communities, who are entirely exempt from the fee payment upon providing valid documentation.

The entrance test is applicable for the following programs:
- M.A./LL.M. (Insolvency): A two-year Postgraduate Insolvency Program (PGIP).
- Joint Master’s/LL.M. in Intellectual Property (IP) Law and Management: A one-year specialized program.
- Ph.D. Programme: Doctoral research in Law and Social Sciences.

AIET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
- For M.A. (Insolvency): Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD).
- For LL.M. (Insolvency/IP Law): An LL.B. or equivalent law degree with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD).
- For Ph.D. in Law: An LL.M. or equivalent law degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD).
- For Ph.D. in Social Sciences: A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Sociology, Political Science) with 55% marks.
AIET 2026 Selection Process
- Entrance Test (AIET): Candidates must appear for the exam on the scheduled date.
- Merit List: A category-wise merit list will be prepared based on AIET scores.
- Interview (For Ph.D.): Shortlisted Ph.D. candidates will undergo a research proposal presentation and interview.
- Counselling: Successful candidates will be called for document verification and fee payment.

- Register as a new user by providing a valid email and phone number.
- Fill out the application form with personal and academic details.
- Upload required documents (Photo, Signature, and Category Certificate if applicable).
- Pay the application fee online and submit the form.
AIET 2026 will be conducted at the following Test Cities: Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Patna In case the number of candidates at any test city is less than 100, Test Centre will not be created in that city and candidates will be allotted test city as per their 2 nd /3rd preference of test city.
