The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has postponed the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - Super Specialty (NEET SS 2023) due to the G20 Summit.

NEET SS 2023 Exam Rescheduled Due to the G20 Summit

New Delhi: National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Super Specialty Courses (NEET SS) 2023 has been postponed by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) due to the G20 Summit scheduled to be held on September 9 -10, 2023.

NEET SS 2023 is a computer-based test comprising 150 MCQs to be attempted in 150 minutes. According to NBE “In wake of the 18th G20 Summit scheduled to be held on September 9 and 10, 2023 in India and consequent travel restrictions which shall now be in place in Delhi from 8th September 2023 to 10th September 2023, the conduct of NEET-SS 2023, which was announced to be held on 9th and 10th September 2023 across the country, has been deferred.”

The board recently declared that Srinagar has not been considered an exam city because of security reasons. The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has requested for an additional exam center for the aspirants belonging to Srinagar. 

According to the schedule, NEET SS Admit Card 2023 will be released on September 4, 2023. NEET-SS serves as the single eligibility-cum-ranking examination for entrance into diverse DM/MCh and DrNB Super Specialty programs.

As per the information brochure, AIIMS, New Delhi and other AIIMS running super specialty programme, PGIMER, Chandigarh, JIPMER, Puducherry, NIMHANS, Bengaluru, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram are excluded for admission to DM/MCH courses through NEET-SS 2023.

NEET-SS question paper comprise of 60% questions from super specialty and 40% questions from feeder broad specialty.
