Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) has announced that 20% of its BTech seats will be filled through JEE Main scores for the 2026-27 batch. Candidates with JEE Main 2026 scores can now apply directly for admission to MIT Manipal and MIT Bengaluru.

The Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal has introduced a major change in its BTech admission policy for the 2026-27 academic year, reserving 20% of seats for candidates applying through JEE Main 2026 scores. As per the update, eligible candidates can now secure direct admission without appearing for the Manipal Entrance Test (MET).
Interestingly, this update was first noticed by applicants through an official email sent to aspiring candidates, where MIT Manipal informed about the new JEE-based admission route. Additionally, according to a screenshot shared on Reddit, the institute has clearly outlined this revised admission policy.

Candidates who have appeared for JEE Main 2026 and achieved a score above the specified percentile threshold are eligible to apply for admission through this new JEE Main quota. The remaining 80% of seats will continue to be filled through the traditional Manipal Entrance Test (MET) and merit-based selection process. This dual admission pathway provides flexibility for candidates and recognizes the credibility of JEE Main as a national engineering entrance examination.

Candidates applying through the JEE Main quota must meet the basic eligibility criteria of passing Class 12 with Physics, Mathematics, and English as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or any technical vocational subject. The minimum aggregate marks requirement is 50% in Physics, Mathematics, and one optional subject. Candidates can apply online through the official MAHE admissions portal and will be required to submit their JEE Main scorecard along with other necessary documents.
The admission process for JEE Main quota candidates involves online application submission, document verification, and merit-based selection based on JEE Main scores. Selected candidates will be called for counseling where they can choose their preferred campus and specialization.
