MHT CET 2026 Session 2 PCM exam begins tomorrow, May 12, 2026, marking the start of the second attempt window for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics aspirants across Maharashtra. The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell will conduct the PCM group exam from May 12 to May 21, 2026 (no exam on May 16 and 17), across approximately 226 centres in CBT mode. Two shifts run on each exam day: Shift 1 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Shift 2 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. All candidate updates, exam day guidelines, shift-wise difficulty level tracking, and post-exam milestones will be covered live on this page. For any official announcement, visit cetcell.mahacet.org.

  • Session 2 PCM exam dates: May 12–21, 2026, excluding May 16 and 17 (Saturday and Sunday).
  • Session 2 PCM admit card released on May 8, 2026 — download and print immediately if not done yet.
  • Historic first: 2026 is the first year MHT CET runs in two sessions. The best percentile from Session 1 and Session 2 is used for the final merit list — appearing in Session 2 carries zero risk for candidates who already performed well in Session 1.
  • At least 11,036 students out of 4,79,334 registered PCM candidates deliberately skipped Session 1 and are banking entirely on tomorrow's exam.
  • No negative marking in Session 2; all 150 questions must be attempted for maximum advantage.

Note: The city intimation slip (released May 5, 2026) and the admit card are two different documents. Only the admit card is valid for entry into the exam hall. The city slip is not accepted at the centre gate.

This article covers all live updates on the MHT CET 2026 Session 2 PCM Exam — from exam-eve checklists and admit card downloads, to trending student questions on marking scheme, difficulty levels, topic weightage, good attempt targets, cutoffs for top colleges, and post-exam timelines including answer key, result, and counselling dates.

MHT CET 2026 Session 2 PCM: Is the Paper Expected to Be Tougher Than Session 1? What PCB Students Say

Students across forums and Telegram groups are asking whether Session 2 will be harder. Based on available evidence from Session 2 PCB (which concluded today):

  • PCB Session 2 verdict: Students who appeared in both PCB sessions confirmed that Session 2 PCB was slightly tougher than Session 1 PCB. Biology had more application-based questions; Physics and Chemistry were comparable.

  • Session 1 PCM recap: The overall difficulty was moderate. Maths was widely reported as the most challenging section — lengthy with similar-looking options that required full solutions. Chemistry was easiest, Physics was moderate and conceptual.
  • Expert view: A slight increase in difficulty in Session 2 PCM is possible, but the percentile normalisation system ensures that a tougher paper does not disadvantage students — the same raw score on a tougher paper yields a relatively higher percentile.
  • Strategy implication: Do not be rattled if the paper feels harder than expected. Attempt all questions (no negative marking), and focus on accuracy over speed in Maths.
MHT CET 2026: Will Session 1 PCM Answer Key Release Before Session 2 Starts Tomorrow?

This is trending heavily among students who appeared in Session 1 and want to cross-check their scores before attempting Session 2. The current situation as of May 11, 2026:

  • The CET Cell has not yet released the Session 1 answer key for PCM or PCB as of today.

  • Many students wrote to the CET Cell asking for early key release so they could gauge Session 1 performance before Session 2. The CET Cell has not officially responded.
  • The MAH MBA CET 2026 Session 1 answer key was released before its second attempt — this created expectation that MHT CET would follow the same. However, with the PCM exam starting tomorrow, there are now effectively zero working hours left for a pre-Session 2 answer key release.
  • Most likely timeline: Session 1 and Session 2 answer keys will be released together after May 21, when the full PCM Session 2 window concludes.
  • When released, candidates will get a window to raise objections at Rs 1,000 per question challenged.
