INI-SS Jan Session 2026 - Exam Pattern and Selection Process
The INI-SS examination is conducted in two stages. The first stage is a Computer-Based Test (CBT), which consists of 80 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) to be completed in 90 minutes. The questions assess both the candidate’s knowledge of the concerned speciality and general medical concepts. Candidates who qualify in this stage are shortlisted for the Departmental Assessment, which involves an interview and evaluation conducted by the respective department at AIIMS.
The final merit list is prepared by combining performance in both stages. Admissions are strictly merit-based, and there is no management quota or provision for donation-based seats, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process.
Why is INI-SS Important?
Securing a seat through INI-SSET allows candidates to pursue training at AIIMS New Delhi and other AIIMS campuses, which are recognised globally for advanced clinical exposure, cutting-edge medical research, and academic excellence.
