IISc Bangalore and Danaher India have joined forces in a collaborative effort to offer scholarships for the MSc Life Sciences degree. This partnership signifies a commitment to education, enabling deserving students to pursue their aspirations.

New Delhi: In a collaborative initiative under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme, IISc Bangalore and Danaher India have joined forces to provide scholarships to students pursuing the MSc Life Sciences degree program.
The scholarship program was inaugurated during an event held at IISc Bangalore on August 22, 2023. This occasion witnessed the presence of Mr. Srinath Venkatesh (Venky), the President of Danaher India, Ms. Joyline Rodrigues, a member of the Danaher India CSR Board, and Prof. Usha Vijayraghavan, the Dean of Biological Sciences at IISc Faculty.
In addition, Chairs of various departments within Biological Sciences at IISc and Directors of several operating companies under Danaher were also present.
Speaking during the event, Mr. Srinath Venkatesh (Venky), President of Danaher India, said that they consider it an honor to collaborate with the esteemed Indian Institute of Science through the Danaher India CSR initiative. This partnership is established to extend scholarships to all students enrolled in their recently introduced Masters in Life Sciences program.
Highlighting that CSR was deeply ingrained in Danaher's culture and operations, Mr. Venkatesh noted that their core values revolved around people and served as the foundation of their organization.
He further explained that their shared purpose, "Helping Realize Life's Potential," provided an avenue for each Danaher member to contribute meaningfully to endeavors larger than themselves, creating a sustainable impact in the communities they served.
He highlighted three key focus areas for their CSR: advancing healthcare innovation, cultivating a diverse and STEAM-ready workforce, and promoting environmental protection. Mr. Venkatesh expressed that the collaboration between IISc and Danaher India within the framework of CSR presented a wonderful opportunity to strengthen their partnership with IISc while advancing their CSR objectives.
He expressed anticipation for the IISc team's visit to their manufacturing and research facilities, an endeavor aimed at expanding their perspectives and better preparing them for fulfilling careers in academia or industry.
Prof. Deepak Saini and Prof. Maria Thaker, the Coordinators of the MSc in Life Sciences Programme, conveyed their satisfaction, mentioning, "Danaher's gracious support for the MSc in Life Sciences program has left them pleased.
This scholarship program will not only offer financial aid to these skilled IISc students but will also present them with promising intellectual avenues to venture into novel and innovative directions in terms of research and creativity.
Further, they anticipated that this collaboration will act as the initiation of an exciting partnership with Danaher.
