IIM Sirmaur Launches Course on “Managing Life and Business: Perspectives of a CFO”

New Delhi: IIM Sirmaur introduced a course, "Managing Life and Business: Perspectives of a C.F.O.," drawing enrollment from sixty-three students eager to explore its offerings. In the current academic year, the course, headed by Prof. P. Sanjay, a faculty member at IIM Sirmaur, aimed beyond traditional academia, commencing into holistic living and corporate governance.

While the primary focus encompassed a global perspective on corporate governance systems, IIM Sirmaur uniquely prioritized sensitizing students to lead balanced, happier lives conducive to enhanced decision-making abilities. 

Rooted in an innovative approach, it seamlessly intertwined ancient practices such as Yoga, Meditation, and Sudarshan Kriya, along with teachings from revered texts like Rigveda, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Patanjali Yoga Sutra, and Kautilya’s Arthashastra, explicitly tailored for contemporary managers and entrepreneurs.

Illustratively, Chanakya’s Arthashastra addressed governance queries, while Sudarshan Kriya catered to holistic well-being—physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual—an invaluable asset for modern workplace managers.

The course's essence revolved around instilling life skills imperative for the modern manager's arsenal. Prof. P. Sanjay, drawing from his extensive professional experience, incorporated techniques he practised. 

He intended to offer students a comprehensive education amalgamating cutting-edge global management practices with the profound wisdom and values deeply ingrained in Indian cultural ethos. This initiative is a testament to IIM Sirmaur's commitment to nurturing well-rounded leaders poised to shape the nation's future.
