IIM Kashipur has taken the initiative to host companies in Delhi apart from campus and reach companies of Gulf and Southeast Asian regions. This step will be taken to attract recruiters from across the world.

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur has taken the initiative to strengthen its corporate relations by expanding its companies in Delhi Campus. This step will be taken to attract diverse companies from across the country for IIM Kashipur Recruitment Drive.

IIM Kashipur will also reach out to companies through HR summits and events in the southern part of the country. The major focus will be on cities like Silicon Valley, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Chennai. The announcement was made during an Annual HR summit ‘PERENNIAL 2024’, which was organized in Bengaluru’s Holiday Inn hotel on June 15, 2024.

Following the IIM Kashipur Placement 2024-25, the institute recorded participation from over 200 companies during the placement drive. The authorities organised three events in 2023 to enhance its corporate relations.

Prof. Utkarsh, Chairperson, Placement and Corporate Relations, IIM Kashipur said, "We are taking a slew of steps under the corporate outreach programme to strengthen our bonding with firms. We believe our students are our brand ambassadors and it’s our responsibility to prepare them for the industry and provide the best working opportunities.”

During the annual HR Summit held on June 15, IIM Kashipur officials shared that the institute is reaching out to Southeast Asian and Gulf companies to strengthen its global relations. The summit was attended by Chief Guest Chief Information Officer, Talent Ola, Sachin Garg along with HRs of Five companies.

Additionally, Mr Rakesh Gopalani, DGM- People and Culture, Porter, Ms Aparna Chetan, CHRO, Torry Harris, Ms Amrutha M, HRBP, HP and Ms Monalisha, Associate Director Human Resources, Flipkart, as well as moderators Mr Sharad Prakash, Senior Project Manager - Supply Chain, Takeda Pharmaceuticals and IIM Kashipur Alumnus, were also present on this occasion.

The annual HR summit was held on the topic of “Cultivating a culture of continuous learning: Empowering employees for career growth". Panelists discussed various topics, ranging from AI in HR to the future of work from home as well as challenges faced by the HR industry. 

Speaking on this occasion, Mr Rakesh Gopalani from Porter shared that working from home is affecting the mental health of the employees. It is very important to separate work and personal space. Ms. Monalisha from Flipkart added that companies need to keep the option to work from home and work from the office open for their employees.

Talking about the benefits of WFH, Ms Aparna Chetan, from Torry Harris shared, "The team effort is completely missing from work from the home method which is key to the company. You learn from your surroundings, seniors which are missing. We need to distinguish between personal and professional life which mixes during work from home and affects our mental health".

Sharing his views on challenges faced by the HR industry, panelists shared, "We need to introduce a value system in the workplace, a bucket of offers, develop personal bonding and help the employees in developing a sense of belonging to the company".
