To proceed further with the application process, candidates must pay the application fee of INR 2,050 for the general category, and candidates from other backward classes of Madhya Pradesh, SC, ST, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), and Divyang (PwD): INR 1,050 (including INR 50 portal fee)

To be eligible for the PhD programme, a candidate must have completed either a one-year (two-semester) Master’s degree after a four-year Bachelor’s degree, or a two-year (four-semester) Master’s degree after a three-year Bachelor’s degree, or hold an equivalent qualification. In all cases, the candidate must have secured at least 55% aggregate marks or an equivalent grade where a grading system is followed.

However, a relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS).

Makhanlal Chaturvedi University PhD Selection Criteria

Candidates who have passed the UGC-NET exam (including JRF) are exempted from the University entrance test. UGC-NET qualifiers will be called directly for the interview stage. For UGC-NET Category 2 or 3 candidates, 70% weightage is given to NET scores and 30% to interview performance for final admission merit.

Furthermore, Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University conducts its own PhD entrance examination for candidates who do not have a valid UGC-NET/JRF or equivalent qualification.
