Eligible NET/JRF/GATE-qualified candidates are exempted from the written test but must appear for the interview.

Gopal Narayan Singh University (GNSU), Jamuhar, Rohtas (Bihar), has released the official Information Bulletin for PhD. Admissions 2026–27, inviting applications across multiple disciplines. Admissions will be conducted through the Gopal Narayan Singh University PhD program. Admission Test (GPAT)–2026, scheduled to be held on February 7, 2026, at the university campus.
The last date to submit the online application form is January 31, 2026. Admission will be granted strictly on merit, based on GPAT performance and fulfilment of eligibility conditions prescribed by the university and regulatory bodies.
Candidates who have qualified national-level examinations such as UGC-NET/JRF, CSIR-JRF, GATE, SLET, or other recognised tests are exempted from appearing in GPAT, though they must submit the application form and qualify in the interview to be considered for registration.

The application fee is ₹2,000 for General/OBC/EWS candidates and ₹1,000 for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Annual research GNSU fees range from ₹60,000 to ₹80,000, depending on the faculty.
