New Delhi: Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan has announced that Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will not be required for admission to various undergraduate courses at North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) in Meghalaya.
In a letter to Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, the Education Minister informed that the exemption from Common University Entrance Test, CUET 2022 at NEHU University and its affiliated colleges will be given for admission to the academic year 2022-23 only.
Informing about the admission criteria, the Education Minister stated that the decision has been made in consideration of the geographical conditions, far-flung locations, limited digital connectivity, and infrastructure in Meghalaya.
For the academic session 2022-23, admission to various NEHU University Courses 2022 will be offered to students as per its existing admission criteria instead of CUET scores, the Education Minister further added in his letter.
North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) Shillong offers Full-time, Part-time, Distance Learning UG, and PG courses to students. The admission process for the same is now open on the official website of the university at www.nehu.ac.in.

After the registration process, the selection of applicants for NEHU Admission 2022 is done on the basis of their marks in qualifying National / State Level Entrance Tests such as NATA, GATE, MAT, etc, or merit list released by the university.
In other news, the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) has been introduced in all central universities as admission criteria for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Earlier, NTA had extended the last date for CUET Registrations 2022 up to May 22, 2022. The application process is now open for all interested and eligible candidates on the official website of CUET at cuet.samath.ac.in.
As per the schedule, the entrance test will be held in the 1st week of July 2022 across the country. The CUET Admit Card 2022 and detailed exam schedule for the same will soon be released on its official website for all applicants to check and download.
