Chandigarh University Hosted Two Day Annual Youth Festival ‘CU Fest 2023’; Check Details Here

New Delhi: At the Gharuan campus, Chandigarh University organised its annual two-day youth festival" CU Fest-2023” from April 28 to April 29, 2023. The event was formally inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh, Pro Vice Chancellor of Chandigarh University.

As per Chandigarh University, the impressive performances and cultural extravaganzas were seen by thousands of students and faculty during the fest. Students from a range of university departments excitedly took part and demonstrated their abilities in various fields. 

On this occasion, Manish Jhangra, the Deputy Director of Department of Youth Welfare, and Dr Arvinder Singh Kang, Executive Director of Student Affairs and Support Services and Dean of Students' Welfare, were also present. 

The festival officially began on April 28, 2023 with competitions in a range of categories, including singing, dancing (solo, duet, and group categories), on-the-spot painting and collage creation, cartooning, clay modelling, rangoli and nukkad natak. 

In addition to this, the festival also included open mic, DJ hunt, modelling, mime, mimicry, mono acting, and debate among other activities. An entertaining EDM night led to a lively and upbeat atmosphere among the young population.

The second day of CU Fest 2023 featured an exciting lineup of performances and events, including battles of the bands, singing, face painting, poster creation, mehendi, installations made best out of garbage, open mic, dance, choreography, and debate competitions. 

The fest ended with a fashion show put on by Chandigarh University's Fashion & Design Department. Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Chandigarh University, expressed his satisfaction at the start of the much-anticipated event CU Fest-2023.

He shared, "Chandigarh University takes the responsibility of mentoring the young talents and encouraging them to follow their passion”. The institution is proud to have developed some of the top artists in the arts of music, dance, and theater, he further added.
