What inspired you to join the education sector and then drew you to your current role?

I was born into a family which understood the importance of education and provided me with all the opportunities to upskill myself as an individual. And I have been a meritorious student since my school days, because I was always either into books or kept putting in efforts to enhance my awareness about my surroundings. In other terms, new things always intrigued me and challenges always sparked my enthusiasm to give my best. Hence I believe these were the driving factors due to which I joined the noble, wonderful and dynamic world of education.

And being an educator and administrator empowers me to bring about societal edification and contribute in my own little way towards the cause of nation building at large.

As a Vice Chairperson of the institution, I am primarily responsible to take care of ideation, planning and supervisory work that can accomplish the vision and mission statement of TIPS and ensure holistic development of our ambitious students. What separates TIPS from other institutions?

TIPS is an institute that envisions transformation of youth by empowering them and along with state of the art infrastructure, it has adopted innovative instructional strategies inside and outside classrooms, because the institution firmly believes that education should not be confined to the four walls of a room and enough space should be given to young generation to experiment with their ideas.

Therefore, various kinds of cultural, literacy and IT fests, important days and festivals celebration along with inter and intra level events and activities are organized by us on a regular basis. In other words, TIPS provides every possible platform to students to help them enhance not only their IQ (Intelligence Quotient) but also CQ (Creativity Quotient), SQ (Social Quotient), EQ (Emotional Quotient) and AQ (Adaptability Quotient).

Lastly , we have made it mandatory for our faculty to regularly upskill them through Faculty Building Programmes as we believe that a Teacher is not only an educator but a lifelong learner.

What approaches have your institute implemented in the courses it is offering to students?

At TIPS, we have adopted an amalgamation of different teaching techniques and use real-time case studies, community driven practices, reflective supervision, concept of flipped classrooms, technical learning sessions to deliver lectures and curriculum content and project work is also assigned to students from time-to-time so that they can utilize their classroom learning in real-world scenarios. Apart from this, we are using a mix pedagogy of Constructivism (understanding the world through experiences rendered on a day to day basis), Collaboration (students learn and grow together using the concept of peer learning), Reflection (analyzing what the teachers and learners are doing in class & figuring out ways to improve things based on the received feedback), Integration (wherein learners are provided with an environment where they can make connections between different points in curriculum) and Enquiry Based Approach (that encourages exploration, investigation, research and study).

How does your institute promote the culture of equality on campus?

At TIPS, merit and not gender defines one’s status in the institute be it for students or faculty. And we provide equal resources along with learning and skill enhancement opportunities to everyone so that they can make best use of their potential. Along with this, we have a culturally rich and vibrant campus where students coming from different communities and backgrounds are taught by a heterogeneous group of teachers.

And any kind of discrimination, racial intolerance or unequal behavior is strictly prohibited here at TIPS and overall we have created a more creative, inclusive and collaborative space for everyone so that they can innovate and display exemplary performances and our leadership team is always ready to help our teachers and ambitious youths in every possible way be it with respect to teaching practices, policies or dedicated training programs.

Any valuable suggestions which you would like to give to the current youth pursuing a career in professional studies?

As we all know, this digital and modern era is the time of smart work and not plain hard work and hence being a bookworm would not help our youths to stand apart from the crowd. Hence, I would like to advise them to regularly upgrade their skills and keep learning new things. Be vigilant, pursue good reading habits and stay updated with the latest happenings and developments of the outer world. Last but not the least, have good moral values and be an ethically strong and independent individual who is ready to take challenges and explore new opportunities.
