Chef Kareena Manoj is a Chef at the Academy of Pastry and Culinary Arts, Bangalore. After completing her undergraduate degree in Psychology, Sociology, and Economics, she pursued a diploma course in pastry at the Academy of Pastry and Culinary Arts, Bangalore. Once her internship was complete at the institute, Chef Kareena worked at Brigade Hospitality for one year, where she taught classes as well. She has completed two years of employment at the Academy of Pastry and Culinary Arts, Bangalore.

What are the most important functions in the role that you play in your institute?
As faculty members, our core commitment lies in delivering education without bias, offering continuous guidance, and providing mentorship throughout and beyond the course. We work towards ensuring a comprehensive and supportive learning experience for our students. We always try to be there for our students for any mentorship or help they need.
Any suggestions/messages that you would like to give to the current youth.
One suggestion that I'd like to make is to define your aspirations with precision and tirelessly pursue them with dedication. Embody a steadfast commitment to hard work and prioritise your well-being for sustained achievement. Keep learning new skills and dedicating time to perfecting your craft. This will help you stay competitive.
How does the curriculum of your institute ensure the best practice of industry?
A strong emphasis on building a solid foundation in the basics is crucial in culinary education. It's great to hear that your curriculum focuses on nurturing fundamental skills, preparing students to be not only skilled but also confident in their abilities by the end of the course. What are some of the major changes that COVID-19 has bought in the education sector according to you?
In response to the challenges posed by COVID-19, we've embraced online learning and prioritised hygiene and safety protocols. We have seamlessly integrated technology into our teaching methods for virtual cooking classes. We prioritise cultivating resilience and adaptability in our aspiring chefs, equipping them to confidently navigate and overcome industry challenges.
How is your relationship with the students of your college?
Having walked in their shoes, sharing experiences with our students is essential. It helps create a supportive community, fostering understanding and collaboration. These shared experiences empower students to navigate challenges together and make the most of their culinary education journey.
