Being the Chancellor of Om Sterling Global University (OSGU) , what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
I believe in a relational leadership philosophy and treat my staff with care and respect. I am optimistic about the capabilities of my team members and always look out for the qualities and traits in them that can be utilized in a positive direction for the growth of the university as well as society.
What are the all courses available and how many total seats are there in the respective courses?
We have 15 schools at the university. These schools offer more than 250 programs, from conventions to futuristic arenas. The university has approximately 5,000 seats to grab for the coming academic session.
Being the Chancellor of OSGU , how do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your school?
A good university does not need as many core marketing efforts as corporations. I strongly believe that if a university provides quality education along with a modern skill set under affordable fees to its students, then the graduating students will become true ambassadors for the university, which could attract the next bunch of students. Here at OSGU, we work hard to update our curriculum, methods of lectures, and uses of IT tools to bring the ultimate outcomes for the students. However, we have dedicated marketing professionals to promote our programs in domestic and foreign markets.
The education systems in India and other foreign countries are structured very differently. In your experience, what can an inbound student gain from studying here at your institute/ university, or school?
Om Sterling Global University provides Affordable education and international hostel facilities. The cross-cultural environment of the university and the high quality and multidisciplinary education at our campus attract students from Middle Eastern, African, and East Asian countries. The international students take away complete knowledge of culture, history, and hands-on working on tools and techniques along with global standard academics.

Any insights into how your university could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?
Obviously, diversity in races, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds is promoted in our university in many ways. We have employed faculty and staff members from different races and religions who work as mentors for such students who are initially a little uncomfortable. This leads to greater awareness, understanding, and acceptance as students get the chance to see someone from a similar background that they can emulate. The university creates ample opportunities for them to celebrate their days of importance and enjoy their lives on campus.
What do you think should be the university’s top priority over the next 10 years?
As the New Education Policy 2020 has restructured the education system, we aim to be the number one private university in North India in the next ten years. We will have students coming from Europe and other developed countries. Each school will have its own "Incubation Centre" and be adept at new ways of teaching methodology, i.e., Bloom's taxonomy, flipped classrooms, etc. The university will also consider starting offshore campuses within the regulations of UGC. We shall have all faculty members with Ph.D. qualifications and a greater thrust on R&D. We wanted to become the first choice of the students, regardless of region or economic background.
What would you like people to know about your university they may not know?
- Many potential students and parents may not be aware of the latest programs we are running at Om Sterling Global University. B Tech (AI/ML), Cyber Security, and B.Sc Forensic Science have a great future. Yoga & Naturopathy and Health Science related programs are in demand worldwide. BSc Agriculture and Vocational programs also have a great scope in the future.
- Our faculty are well qualified (more than 80% with Ph.D.) and have vast experience. Compared to other private universities, we are far ahead in this aspect.
- We are very cautious regarding the attendance of students, discipline, and a fair examination system.
What do you see as OSCAR's greatest strengths?
The greatest strength of our university is its location and faculty base. We are near the NCR and at the middle point of Chandigarh, Rajasthan, and Haryana, but still away from the city crowd. Our lush green campus is highly suitable for education because it is free from air, water, and noise pollution and is also in a crime-free locality. Whereas on the other hand, it has excellent rail and road connectivity with the national capital. The much-awaited Airport is also in progress. We have faculty from all parts of the country with national and international experiences with the right mix of Academics, Research, and IT expertise.
What are some of the biggest challenges you see, both for higher education in general and for OSGU specifically?
Although India is the third largest market for higher education after China and the USA, it will be number one in the next few years. But the disparity in the distribution of National Income makes it economically impossible for many youths to avail of higher education in the future. The absence of employability skills and R&D are other threats to our education system. At OM Sterling Global University, we have already initiated projects, patents, and research to overcome these challenges. At university, our biggest challenge for upcoming years will be to cater the high demand for admissions in comparison to available seats.
Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
My message to youth aspiring for higher education is that they must avail opportunities of the new millennium through the correct skill set. Our focus is to be a university for students that scales up employability by developing job seekers as well as job givers. Our graduates with an entrepreneurial mindset shall become collaborative and have a global outlook besides ethical and value-oriented individuals.
What are some plans that you’re currently (or will be) designing for OSGU international affairs and/or students?
The university is all set to construct one more international hostel equipped with all required peripherals along with globally accepted mouth-watering cuisines. The university has also sought faculty of international origin to provide an atmosphere of global competitiveness. The international student exchange programs will have more exchanges from both sides.
