You have held key positions at education institutes throughout your professional career. What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

Education is the essence of life; it is a torch bearer in the modern-day world. Most professions in the life are only career builder but education is the divine responsibility given only to the few chosen by the GOD himself.Born and brought up in the family of academicians, I started my career with corporate sector but there was lack of satisfaction, I realized that I am not on the way to which I actually meant for, therefore I decided to work for growth of the Nation and its youth, where I found no better tool other than education. I am so attached to this field as it helps me in sharing my learning and experiences with the new potential minds that hold aspirations to reach every realm and some even searching infinity and beyond. Being an educationist helped me give my best service to society.

Being the Director of SSLD Group of Institutions, Aligarh, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?

Most people believe that leadership is a one man show, but the fact is entirely different. A wolf is only as strong as its pack. My philosophy of Leadership has always been about sharing common objectives, values and goals. I feel a set of good people pooled together can-do wonders. As a leader I have always played the role of guide which helps me to look into my team strength and their lacunas. My personal perception is that every team member should be motivated on different levels as every individual is different and so are their competencies. A family can be taken as a base to hold an institution; I always believe that my Institution is like one big family on a quest to reach our objectives together. We enjoy our highs together and at the same time we experience our lows together and that is how it should be forever. Leadership is not about an individual, it's always about a group of people holding themselves together as a cohesive force on a journey to success one after another.

Being the Executive Director of SSLD Group of Institutions, Aligarh, how do you strategize about the key programs and plans for the marketing and administration of your group?

In the 21st century, marketing will acquire a new face. Marketing shouldn’t just be executing the same strategy year after year, but actively coordinating with the rest of marketing team to plan and execute a marketing strategy that fits the group’s goals as a whole, being the Executive Director of such a renowned group, I focus on the following factors- Video marketing to enhance engagement between the teachers and the students. Targeting the youth by creating a personalized mobile-friendly website. Using social media platforms to enhance our digital friendly base. As an administrator, I always identify success and needs of the student population which has to be implemented and monitor for academic and literacy programs toward achieving goals, design and implement student behavioral modification programs to reduce truancy, attitude and interactions with teachers and peer students. I believe in the successful development and maintenance of an atmosphere of openness, confidentiality, and trust between and among all stakeholders: students, guardians, and teachers.

Any insights into how SSLD Group of Institutions, Aligarh, could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

Education is not a privilege, it is the right of every individual. India is the land of many races and backgrounds. At SSLD, we believe in the concept of educational inclusion where everyone is welcomed with no segmentation of colors, caste, creed or religion background which will act as barriers for their professional studies. I have always thought as an Academician it is our moral compass that guides us to do certain things for the uplifting of society. We have special reserved seats for students from economically weaker sections. I believe it is a debt which we owe to our society which needs to be paid off by helping people to grow and explore them. I have a separate team which works on the issues to bring all the students at par no matter which racial and economic background they come from. There are regular counseling sessions which develop confidence in the students from various races and economic backgrounds. There are various facilities provided by the management at subsidized rates so that students from even weak economic backgrounds may avail. Time to time various scholarship tests are conducted which definitely benefit the students' development.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the SSLD Group of Institutions, Aligarh, and the students are?

My role is like a bridge and link between the students and the university. We have approval & affiliations from different Apex bodies like AICTE, Pharmacy Council of India, Universities, Board of Technical Education etc at our SSLD Group for different courses under one educational umbrella. It is very important to follow the protocols and process of this university and hence it is my responsibility that process is followed and protocols are honored. I always take initiative to provide the latest update related to their curriculum which makes them update their studies. I feel it is how the university and students are connected that helps both the students and the affiliation bodies in achieving their individual objectives.

What do you think should be the SSLD Education Group’s top priority over the next 10 years?

Competition now-a-days is at its career best. Yes, whatever I am saying has a true meaning. With so many universities in India, the number of professional graduates and post graduates has increased exponentially in the last decade. Now the solution to the above stated problem can be how we can help our student’s edge out competition and be a winner. SSLD Education Group will focus more on training the students on practical problems, various workshops will be arranged for the students where experienced professionals will share their experiences with students which will help them to grow professionally. Placement initiatives will be another important area of focus along with personality development of students as other important aspects. Times will change unexpectedly in the next decade hence we must be prepared to get accustomed to the changes.

What do you see as SSLD Group of Institutions, Aligarh, greatest strengths?

The Strength of SSLD Group of Institutions, Aligarh, is the vision and mission on which it works and runs. We have best teaching faculties from reputed Universities to nurture and guide our students. The Management of our institution is in the hands of people who are like a light beacon for all of us. Believe me miracles happen when you have faith on people. We also focus on overall personality development of our students with tailor made strategies. Every child is special and different. We just try to discover that unique attribute of each and every child.

How do you tend to establish a healthy relationship and environment in your institute/ group?

As I already mentioned, an Institution is just like a family with professional commitments. An institute is like a big cookie you make with many ingredients and all of them carry their own aroma and flavor. The environment of our institute is like a free economy place where everyone has authority and responsibilities .We work with each other to hold the core values intact even in the difficult times. We share success, discuss failures together and keep moving from one level to another. A decade has passed with the Institution and I feel like it is just the beginning. The best success for any organization is when people enjoy their jobs rather than just working without any zeal.
