GITAM School of Science Hyderabad News and Latest Updates 2025

Hyderabad, February 08, 2019: GITAM Deemed-to-be University, Hyderabad Student Chapter Charaiveti (Campus Connect – Vivekananda Kendra Kanyakumari) organized a one-day National Seminar on ‘Science, Society and Spirituality: Emerging Perspectives’. The event was held at the GITAM Hyderabad campus on February 7, 2019.

Dr. Anand Mahanand, Professor and Head, Department of Materials Development, Testing and Evaluation, EFLU, Hyderabad delivered the keynote address on ‘spirituality in education, a scientific perspective’. ‘The values of truth, righteousness, peace, love, and non-violence are found in all major spiritual paths. These spiritual values are also human values and are the fundamental roots of a healthy, vibrant, and viable work career’ Dr. Anand told. ‘Spiritual values’ implies that they are something that human beings need to aspire to and hopefully someday achieve, he added.

Dr. Mahanand conducted an experiment on two students regarding spiritual maturity, the difference between spiritual maturity and religious spirituality. He answered many quarries raised by the students. Prof. G.A.Rama Rao, Principal, GITAM School of Science graced as chief guest in the valedictory session and spoke on how to balance the stress, how to brighten the spirituality and more. Earlier, Dr. Amit Kumar, Faculty Coordinator of this seminar welcomed the guests and introduced to the delegates.
