Mr. Subodh Kumar is currently serving as the chairman of the SN Sinha Institute of Business Management. He has a total experience of 13 years and completed his professional MBA in 2006. After completing his MBA, he worked for 4 years in different MNCs. In the year 2015, he was appointed Chairman of the S. N. Sinha Institute of Business Management.
Since then, he has taken care of the institute and brought in some government programs like PMKVY, NULM, and SJSRM, which are government-run projects and are basically for the skill development of the child.

Being the Chairman of S N Sinha Institute of Business Management, what is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
According to me, leadership is an art. When I say that, it means a person uses his or her skills to manage a group of people in an organization in a synchronous way to achieve the organizational goal. Leadership comes with experience because once you start dealing with the people of your organization, you have to lead by example. You always have to show how you can do the work in the best possible way by optimally using your resources. Similarly, I follow the above-mentioned leadership skills. I take care of the people in my organization and lead by example. I show them how they can achieve the specific goal they desire in a better way by taking advantage of the resources that are available to them in the best possible way. I believe in a consultative approach where you consult with your colleagues and come to a conclusion that will be beneficial for the organization. When I say consultative, it means to take input from the resources that you have and use those inputs to get the result not by forcing your decision on the employees.
How does the curriculum of S N Sinha Institute of Business management ensure the best practice of industry?
We at the SN Sinha Institute of Business Management equip the students with professional courses like BBA, BCA, and MBA. Along with this, we provide skull development programs such as NULM, SJSRY, and PMKVY. These courses are completely professional, where a student learns the pros and cons of the industry. We always try to incorporate the syllabus that is being provided by the university; we try to develop the skills of reasoning, thinking, and being innovative so that the students are ready for the future when they will apply the concepts they have learned in a practical environment. We provide students with the best of the journals and case studies so that they are aware of the things that are going on outside the world. We always try to provide students with the best faculty so that they can learn from the best and use it whenever they require it. We always work with different organizations that are interested in improving the skills of the students, whether it be communication skills, social skills, or moral skills. We make the students ready for the future by making them visit different industries where they can learn the practical ways of management. We provide the students with internship opportunities where they can learn the crux of management in a practical way.
How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and Facualties??
As a chairman, or you can say as an entrepreneur, where you have to deal with a lot of manpower, whether it be teaching staff, non-teaching staff, students, or some outside environment, harmony in relationships is very important as these are the people who are working for you and making your dream come true through their efforts. So as a director, it is my major responsibility to have a good relationship with the students and the faculties. I am open to suggestions or any grievances from the students and faculty members. My doors are always open to all of them. I feel that you have to be sympathetic all the time, try to understand their problems, and try to give a solution in a given frame of time so that their belief in you becomes harder. Once this starts believing you, the relationship becomes more healthy and fruitful, both for the individual and for the organization.

How do you help your student to cope up with the competition being so high in the outside world?
The courses that are being provided at the SN Institute of Business Management are very professional in nature, and to be very honest, there is a huge, or you can say cutthroat, competition outside. Keeping in view the competition, we make the students ready to enter this competitive world by equipping them with a blend of good theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge simultaneously. We help the students understand the practicality of all the concepts that they have learned in the curriculum. We make the student understand that each concept that is being taught has some practical approach to it. We make the student understand the concepts and apply them by providing a good number of case studies that are very recent in nature. We provide them with a good number of journals so that they can get updated. We have a training and placement department that works on the complete overall development of the student, whether it be personality development, group discussion or communication skills, so that they can compete with graduates who have passed out of premier B schools.
What are your primary responsibilities as Chairman and how do you balance them with other aspects of your job?
Once you say chairman it comes with a lot of responsibilities for me. S N Sinha Institute of business management is a family for me and as a head of a family I take complete responsibility for all the issues or all the aspects that are being carried away in the organisation. Starting from academic part, operational part, administrative part, training and placement part to day to day operations I get involved in all those things. In our college we have skill development programmes which need a lot of involvement from my side. I personally lead the grievance redressal cell, anti ragging cell and actively participate in the training and placement department. As a chairman it is my responsibility to fulfill the Vision and Mission power of the late founder chairman.
What do you see as S N Sinha Institute of Business management’s greatest strengths?
The staff members including teaching and non teaching staff along with the administrative staff, their passion and continued effort for achieving the desired goal of the organisation are the major strength for SN Sinha Institute of business management. Students are also the major strength for the college
Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
In the era where we are trying to be a developed Nation by 2047, there is a huge scope and options for the coming youth. the average age of our country is 27, this clearly shows that the youth have a lot of opportunity in the coming future, what they have to focus on is they have to be very practical towards the thing that they have learnt in their curriculum. They must try to be industry ready and employable rather than just mugging up the concepts and getting good marks. They must try to incorporate the creativity in their minds to help this country become a developed nation. Whichever cause they opt for they must try to give their best and as per as Management course is concerned they must give their best in the organisation they get placed in so that organisation can grow rapidly. For those who want to be entrepreneurs they must possess the practicality approach in their organisation to make that organisation a successful one. By all these efforts we will be helping our Nation to achieve its goal.
