Mr.Mehraj Noorani is the HOD at BM Group of Colleges, Indore. He has done an MBA from DAVV and is pursuing a Ph.D. He completed his graduation with a B.Com in Foreign Trade. He has been associated with ICFAI University Indore from 2009 to 2014. In 2014, he joined the BM Group of College and he has a total teaching experience of 9 years.

What are the factors that make this program the best for the students to opt for?

For the MBA we are providing dual specialization. In dual specialization, you can opt for two specializations, so this way students can have two options for their future. We are providing an MBA in finance, marketing, HR, IT, production, and operation. Out of these specializations students can opt for any two. We also have very highly qualified faculty members who have expertise in their field. We also provide internships for our students for which they also get a stipend and many students have achieved successful careers at our institution.

What are the best practices in the course you are offering?

In our department, we always try to make sure that our students are grabbing all the things that we are teaching them. I believe that bookish knowledge is necessary but practical knowledge is more valuable. MBA is a course that requires a lot of time management consistency, adaptability, and leadership and we prepare students for all these skills. We always stay updated on industry trends, and emerging technologies that are relevant to our field. 

What are some valuable insights into the program that you are offering at your institute/department?

MBA is one of the most emerging fields these days and provides valuable insights to students like strategic thinking, decision making, communication adaptability, team time management, etc. MBA students learn how to become good leaders who can motivate other people. MBA students have to meet new customers daily so this program helps in developing the communication skills of students. It also teaches how to work in a team effectively.

How does the program ensure that students are being prepared for the future?

To make students prepared for their future we have to ensure many things. We have to keep ourselves updated and also our curriculum so that it can align with the emerging industry trends. We have collaborated with many reputed industries and we invite guest speakers and organize workshops and seminars for students. We believe in providing practical knowledge to our students. We also try to develop skills like leadership, communication, critical thinking, time management, adaptability, etc. for our students.

How did you train yourself/faculty to deliver this program to the students?

Before delivering this program to our students I have to train myself and my faculty members also. We organize leadership training for our faculties so that they can develop their leadership skills. I have to collaborate with my faculty to update the MBA program's curriculum. I always try to encourage my faculty members to participate in conferences, seminars, and workshops. We used to take feedback from our students regularly. Training and development play a major role.

How do you tend to build an industry connection with this program?

We have to maintain strong industry connections for our program so that it can provide valuable opportunities for students. We organize conferences, seminars, and guest lectures for students so that our students can get opportunities for connecting with employers. We have collaborated with many Industries to create internship opportunities for our students. Workshops are organized so that students can gather practical knowledge about industries. 

What were the challenges that you faced while inculcating this program into your curriculum?

Inculcating the MBA program in the curriculum is a challenging task. We have to design a curriculum that is up-to-date and can align with the industry's trends. We need to recruit highly qualified faculty members with both academic and industrial experience. Another challenging thing is attracting students and faculty in this competitive market to collaborate with reputed Industries is also not easy, it takes a lot of time and effort. So these are some challenges that I face while incorporating the MBA program into the curriculum.

An MBA is a degree that offers a wide range of benefits and career opportunities. MBA is a program that helps enhance the skills of the students like leadership skills time management communication adaptability consistency etc. MBA graduates can expect a high salary and many MBA graduates start their businesses. MBA program has many career options like corporate, entrepreneurship, finance, marketing, sales, human resources, supply chain management, operations management, technology, etc.
