Mr. Aditya Vikram Singh is the Head of the Placement and Training division at Lucknow Public College Of Professional Studies. He holds M.Tech, B.Ed. and B.Tech degrees at the undergraduate and the postgraduate level. His field of research is Antenna Design and HFSS Simulation.

What inspired you to pursue a career in higher education administration, and what drew you to your current role as Training and Placement Head ?
My current role as training and placement head is to trained students in different soft skills and to guide them to appear in different placement drives, I personally organize Rastriya job festival every year which is on 24th of February this year and I personally invite more than 50 companies in a single day for the students of Lucknow public college of professional studies.
What do you see as the biggest challenges facing higher education today, and how do you think your institution is addressing those challenges?
The biggest challenge that colleges have in U.P or all over India is lack of knowledge that student have mostly the students in third year they don’t know what to do whether they have to go for job or they have to pursue MBA or MCA, I think if institution start guiding them from the very first year through value aided courses because LPCPS offer 26 value aided courses in a single semester I think student of LPCPS get very wide variety of courses apart from their academic program so I think that will help the student to find their goals or find their future in the education after their UG or after their 12th class .
Can you describe any specific measures or programs that your institution has implemented to address the rising mental health issues and stress among students in India?
I think majorly the health issue and the stress issues or the anxiety problem come because of the lack of career guidance in the students of third year or may be in class 12th if they are so we have different clubs which fosters the talent of the students we have 26 different value aided courses which we provide to the student free of cost these are grooming classes which we provide on a zero cost basis and I think when the student join any club they get to know their inner talent and they have sports club also there is music, dance, different activities we do conduct every year in every semester Xenium is our annual fest which we have organize in 2020 where 150 countries have participated and in that student get a chance to interact to network with different institutions and I think from there student find what is the purpose of is him or her life and I think the measure stress come from that only if a student find the purpose why he is studying or why he is in the college he/she will be find out the solution of the problem.
What advice would you give to someone who is not interested in a college placement ?
I think if the student is not interested in the college placement then he might be interested in entrepreneurship or different kind of, because after graduation he/ she will be doing something whether he/ she will prepare for CAT examination or they will go for MBA they will go for business so I think nobody will sit at home so as a college and as a placement cell I invite and I asks student to kindly come to college and interact after interaction may be there are certain possibilities which students can get if he/she is not interested in placement then they can start their own company, they can start selling something, there are many websites, there are many artificial intelligence tools which are available on internet, for example, students can start selling t-shirts, goodies. There are many possibilities students can do if they are not interested in the placement.
What new initiatives and collaborations has the University established with Industry Leaders to promote industry-specific courses?
We have signed a total of 16 MoUs from different institutions outside Lucknow. These institutes work on job training, value aided courses, field visits, internships, paid internships, placements. We have done many initiatives and many collaborations like just I have told you to foster the inner talent and to bridge the gap between the academics and the industries.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?
The only advice that I want to give to the younger generation is to show up, show up to the classroom show up to session that is planned at your college at the timing, show up in the basketball court, show up in the football court, show up in the gym, show up in the 6 AM in the morning do meditation just show up where ever it is required just go and attend that particular thing that could be class that be your football match that could be your cricket that could be anything just you have to appear at that particular place.
What were the challenges that you faced while Training and Placement in your institute?
The only challenge I face is not from the student side is from the corporate world side because being in Lucknow we do not have so much MNCs and companies in Lucknow so it gets a challenge to invite companies from Noida because Noida itself have many institutions which provide these courses that we have in Lucknow so HRs from Noida and Delhi they do not want to come to Lucknow to hire student from Lucknow so I wish in near future many MNCs will come to Lucknow and then we will overcome the challenge.
What are the types of projects & Internships that the students are working on through this Department ?
We have 25 students who are working as a placement ambassador, the task the work they do, they bring on the companies to the college and they interact with the students, they plan regular lectures where we teach students the soft skills, the body language part there are different modules that we teach students and every student have a different task many student do anchoring also they are directly connected with the HRs of the different companies so HRs directly coordinate with the students not to we, so by the help of this student get a chance to get work in the company.
What are the benefits and career options after getting placement ?
There are many benefits when the student is in the placement cell itself he gets a chance to write a mail, write a cold mail, how to call somebody, how to talk to an HR, how to write a report, report writing, PPT making and everything will be taught in college and that itself help the student after the college when he/ she pass out from the college, in the company where they work, they do the same task that they are doing here in the placement cell.
What are the factors that make you different in Training and Placement?
The factors I think are many but the primary factor is Rastriya job festival, why because in RGF we do not charge a single penny from the company and we do not charge a single penny from the candidate as well and in this semester we are organizing job drives on the daily basis every second or third day we are inviting companies in the Lucknow so I think that is different in Lucknow public college of professional studies any other college and we are totally bound to give placement to those students who are in need and if he/ she is not willing to take the placement from the college we are there to guide them in there entrepreneurship journey as well in Rastriya job festival we are giving desk to those student who want to sell anything.
