Foundation Day Lecture of XIM University

XIM University conducted The Foundation Day Lecture on the 11th of December at Bhubaneswar. The lecture was conducted by Shri Chandrajit Banerjee, Director-General of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), who addressed the lecture as Chief Guest and Speaker. The Director-General shared his valuable thoughts on the Indian Economy. He called the Indian economy the largest developing economy globally and elaborated about his dream for the next 25 years.

On the occasion of the Foundation Day Lecture, The Chief Guest and Speaker Chandrajit Banerjee were conferred with the Honorary Doctoral Degree in Business Management by the XIM University. He was felicitated by the respected Rajive Kaul and Fr. Antony R. Uvari, S.J., Vice-Chancellor, XIM University. He was very much grateful to the speaker Shri Chandrajit Banerjee for his presence at the event. He also recognized the speaker's contributions in a great way. In his speech, he further encouraged the youth to become sensitive leaders who build an organizational culture that fosters belongingness and ultimately adds to the dream of ‘India At 100’. 

Many other personalities like Rajive Kaul, Chairman Emeritus, Board of Governors; Fr. Antony R Uvari, S.J., Vice-Chancellor, XIM University, and Fr. S. Antony Raj, S.J Registrar, XIM University were also present. Fr. S. Antony Raj, S.J. conducted the ceremony of awarding the Long Service Medals to felicitate the employees for their commitment and dedication towards the institution. Along with this, many students of the MBA-Business Management and Executive MBA Programs attended the event of XIM University’s Foundation Day Lecture.

The event was successfully concluded by the vote of thanks of Fr. Antony R. Uvari where he thanked and expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest and congratulated one and all in the University for their contribution and efforts. He ended the occasion with the quote “We are thankful to all for being strong stakeholders in the foundation of XIM University”. Hence, the event concluded by thanking all the present guests, speakers and students for their presence at the Foundation Day Lecture organized by XIM University.

XIM University is proud to announce that it has achieved 100% placements for three of its premier B-Schools: Xavier Institute of Management, School of Human Resource Management and School of Rural Management. Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, established in 1987, is a premium B-school in the country, with a rich legacy of enabling the best-in-class future leaders. The two-year flagship Business Management program has consistently been ranked as one of the finest business curriculums in the country. Inheriting the 34-year-old legacy of Xavier Institute of Management, the School of Human Resource Management and the School of Rural Management aims to deliver quality education to its students and nurture their business acumen in Human Resource Management and Rural Management.

The varsity is exceptionally elated to note record time placements at Xuberance '22 and is one of the first universities/institutes to finish with 100% placements this year for the Batch of 2022. There is a significant rise in the average and median compensation compared to the previous year. 125+ recruiters were invited for the placement of MBA – BM, MBA – HRM and MBA – RM students. The annual placement drive saw 39 first-time recruiters apart from the legacy brands. The placements for BM witnessed a multitude of roles encompassing all sectors like Finance, Systems, Consulting, Marketing, and Product Management, amongst others. An array of impressive roles was offered in the area of Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, HR Business Partner, HR analytics, Industrial Relations, Compensation and Benefits and more for the HRM students. The placements for RM witnessed a multitude of roles encompassing all sectors like Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI), Development, Consultancy, Marketing, Healthcare and Financial Inclusion amongst others. The batch also bagged several PPOs through Summer Placements alongside case competitions. The batch has also secured several national accolades in case study competitions. With a batch strength of 355, 119, and 74 in BM, HRM and RM, respectively, the class of 2020-22 has a good mix of students from diverse backgrounds and work experience ranging from commerce, engineering, science to management and humanities, as well as one of the best gender diversity ratios. A balanced demographic of fresh graduates and experienced professionals have contributed to this year's stellar performance.

With the unwavering support of the corporate partners, alumni, administration, and stakeholders throughout Xuberance '22, the students have accomplished this remarkable feat. XIM University released the final placement data of MBA (BM) of batch 2019-21

Under the helm of XIM University (formerly Xavier University, Bhubaneswar), Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, is proud to announce that the institute has successfully placed the students of the batch of 2019-21.

According to the released data, so far 97 recruiters were present for on-campus recruitment with 53 new recruiters. An average package was offered at INR 18.10 LPA and the median package was INR 17.32 LPA. In the final placement process, MBA - Business Management course the highest salary was offered at INR 24 LPA which is 1.50 lakh more than last year.

Top recruiters like Morgan Stanley Capital International, BNY Mellon, Deloitte, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Consumer Care, Viacom18, Royal Enfield, HashedIn by Deloitte, L&T Infotech, Accenture Strategy & Consulting, Crompton Greaves, Aditya Birla Capital, Airtel, Trafigura, etc were also present in the on-campus recruitment of the XIM University.

XIM University has successfully commenced its academic session for the doctoral and  post graduate programmes via virtual mode consecutively for the second time in the  row. The University was also among the first institutions to successfully complete the  last academic year on time in the online platform. 

XIM University which has recently undergone a name change for upholding its legacy  and brand building, successfully held its inauguration and orientation programme for  Executive MBA (Batch of 2021-2022), MBA- Business Management, MBA – Human  Resource Management and MBA – Rural Management, Batch of 2021-2023 along with  the Doctoral Programs of Xavier Institute of Management, School of Human Resource  Management, School of Rural Management on 5th July 2021 (Monday). 

The inaugural ceremony was chaired by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Fr. Antony R.  Uvari, S.J., along with the Registrar, Fr. E.A. Augustine, S.J. and the Deans of the  respective schools under the University. The Associate Dean, Admissions Prof. Bikram  Kumar Bahinipati presented the student profile of the batches followed by the inaugural  address by the Vice Chancellor, Fr. Antony R. Uvari, S.J. and finally the faculty  introductions by the Dean, Xavier Institute of Management, Prof. Shridhar Kumar Dash,  Prof. Andrew Dutta, Dean, School of Human Resource Management and Prof. Niraj  Kumar from School of Rural Management. The inauguration ended with the vote of  thanks by Fr. E.A. Augustine, S.J., Registrar, XIM University. 

The disruption in continuity of education due to the COVID 19 pandemic has presented,  among teachers and students, a very natural concern for the future. This is a crisis like  no other and despite the uncertainty, we can and have to chart a path forward. This  adversity has helped the University to reimagine education system, restructure  pedagogy and re-equip technology with state-of-the art equipment.

The University since the past year has tried to suitably adapt to the digital platform in  their ecosystem of education and make use of it, to transform teaching and learning  methodologies in response to the COVID 19 pandemic. The University is up for this  challenge and are equipped with the essential modes of IT enabled platform to deliver  quality education to their students across the country.  

The Vice Chancellor in his speech addressed the students and requested them to tap all  the opportunities offered in the University, enhance their mindset, and nurture one’s  own development as they grow within XIM University’s learning environment and  become the pride and joy of their parents, teachers, university, and the country as a  whole. 

Xavier University renamed as XIM University, harnessing 26 years of XIM brand legacy

On 13th March 2021, the Xavier University, Odisha (Amendment) Bill 2021 was  passed in the Odisha State Assembly, renaming Xavier University as XIM  University. This Amendment Act has now received the consent of the Hon'ble  Governor of Odisha and has been published as notification in the Gazette. With  this Xavier University has been renamed as XIM University.  

XIM University thanks Hon'ble Governor of Odisha, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Hon’ble MLAs of the Odisha State Assembly, the  Odisha Government, the people of Odisha along with all stakeholders  who played an instrumental role in this transformation. In 1987, XIM Society, (Xavier Institute of Management Society) established  Xavier Institute of Management (XIM) Bhubaneswar. The brand name and the  legacy of XIMB are well known across Odisha, India and the world. After 26  years of being XIMB, in 2013 the brand name of "XIM" was replaced by the  brand name of "Xavier" for the purposes of establishment of Xavier University.  

But it was felt that the University was losing its rich legacy and brand equity  of XIM which was generated successfully over 26 years. Faculty members, staff,  students, parents, alumni and industry experts felt that it was necessary to harness XIM brand and make this University stronger. Therefore, it was  decided to rename the University as XIM University.  

This renaming also helps in integrating both campuses of the University into a  single legal entity with a shared structure, process, and procedure for better  governance and administration of the University. With this renaming, students  will get more career prospects all over the world and overseas with the XIM  brand name certificate. Industries, corporations, leaders, and the development  sectors have all embraced the brand name XIM.  

This brand, “XIM”, has thus produced more than 8000 management graduates, and as such, its alumni have spread all over the world and have been serving  the common society for a greater good. Retaining the brand “XIM” is critical as  it enables every stakeholder to function efficiently and effectively, greater  collaboration and networking with the external stakeholders, attracting high quality students and qualified and experienced faculty, more industry-strong  recruiters on campus to provide more job opportunities and to be able to  positively impact the life of common people. XIM University stands dedicated  towards upliftment of the downtrodden and service to the poor and  marginalized and promotes compassion, integrity, and a sustainable society.  

With a humble beginning in management education in 1987, today XIM  University has eleven schools offering Doctoral, Masters and Under-graduate  programs in the disciplines of Business Management, Human Resource  Management, Rural Management, Sustainability Management, Human  Settlements, Commerce, Mass Communication, Computer Science &  Engineering, Economics, Law, Governance and Public Affairs.
