What are the key factors that keep you connected with the education sector?

As we all know that at present, the dynamic world of education is undergoing significant evolution as a result of the implementation of new policies and transition to Industry 4.0. Also, navigating these changes poses a challenge in preparing the youths to meet the standards of various industries. And my sustained connection with this sector is fueled by the continuous desire to impart knowledge through teaching and an unwavering dedication to staying informed about the cutting-edge technologies through ongoing learning initiatives.

Being the Dean of Pollachi Institute, what is your philosophy of leadership?

My leadership philosophy centers around the principle of under-promising and over-delivering and I always foster the culture of open communication on campus so that the skills of my students and staff members can be utilized in the best way possible. And considering lessons of my past professional life, I regularly motivate my team so that each of them can achieve their life goals on time. Last but not the least, as I strongly believe in the power of teamwork, hence I always include each of my team members in the decision making process and don't forget to recognize their achievements through rewards and recognition.

What benefits can students gain from studying here in your institute?

There are several benefits which students will get after enrolling in our college course. First and foremost, they will get numerous learning opportunities and a robust academic framework to enhance their skills and subject knowledge. And unlike other educational institutions whose focus remains on providing knowledge only, we give equal emphasis to both theoretical knowledge as well as practical exposure so that students can grow on both personal and professional level. How do you balance the needs of faculty, students, and administration as a dean of PIET ?

Being the Dean of PIET, I always ensure that our instructional processes remain effective and we uphold integrity in every work we do be it related to crucial aspects like student recruitment and admission procedures or academic advancements. Also, the synergy within my team is fundamental, and I always promote the power of collaboration and teamwork by celebrating the collective successes achieved by the college's department. 

And it's quite natural that requirements of faculty members, students and administration are going to be different all the time, therefore I have adopted a nuanced approach to fulfill them and to avoid any kind of confusion or misunderstanding, I always encourage everyone to interact with me and each other on a regular basis.

How do you build a strong connection between your institute courses and industry demands?

We have implemented a range of strategies to establish a strong connection between our college's course and corporate demands. First and foremost, we organize events and activities such as industrial visits, webinars, and workshops to immerse students in the live and practical aspects of the industry on a continuous basis. These initiatives also act as a bridge between academia and industry standards, trends and technologies and ultimately help us in improving the skills of our young minds to a great extent as they get direct exposure of industrial practices and comprehensive understanding of its operations. Apart from this, these events and activities offer a perfect platform to students to connect with industry professionals, experts, and potential employers and ensure that they are well-prepared and aligned with industry expectations.

In what way have you made your academic practices more student-centric?

Our institution has adopted flexible and innovative learning methodologies instead of rote-learning practices to ensure that best quality education can be provided to students. Also, due to its autonomous status, our institution has got the opportunity to design a comprehensive and industry driven curriculum that aligns with the latest trends, technologies and requirements of various industries. And this in return has allowed us to introduce courses in emerging areas, thereby enhancing the employability prospects of our students. Last but not the least, we have given special focus on collaborative and project-based learning to provide a holistic educational experience to students.
