The Entrepreneurship Development cell at New Horizon College aims to enhance the skill sets of aspiring entrepreneurs and increase the pool of entrepreneurs to aid in rapid industrial growth. The institution will act as an incubation centre by nurturing creativity and by cultivating entrepreneurship aspirations in students who might not lean toward this domain.

Objectives

  • To inculcate entrepreneurship spirit in the minds of the youths
  • To conduct entrepreneurship awareness camps (EAC), entrepreneurship development programs (EDP), Faculty development programs (FDP), and skill development programs (SDP)

  •  To foster entrepreneurial thinking, promote, and facilitate the business knowledge to budding entrepreneurs

Activities

The Entrepreneurship Development cell at New Horizon College is dedicated to creating a culture of innovation through different activities and initiatives. Some of the activities undertaken by the Development cell are

  • Launch of Udaan: Udaan is the outlook of Hon’ble Chairman Dr. Mohan Manghnani, aiming to empower all students of New Horizon with independence and self-reliance in every aspect. Udaan is committed to supporting “Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan” – The Self-reliant India campaign launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji. One of the main objectives of Udaan is to provide a platform to the students to come up with innovative business ideas along with assisting them to convert the ideas into successful business resources.

  • Startup brews innovation at a global scale: The Entrepreneurship cell organized a webinar on startup brews innovation at a global scale for the BCA, BBA & B. Com students. The students gain insights into the financial challenges of startups, the validity of the concept to potential; lenders and investors, and ways of determining the value of business. The webinar ended with students clearing their doubts and getting inspired to think out of the box for the new business idea.
  • Ideation and design thinking: A competition was conducted by the institute which aimed to help the students think out of the box and explore innovative business ideas. Students who participated in the competition presented innovative ideas in the fields of Agriculture, Rural Development, Medical, Business Intelligence, Digital Marketing, Energy Storage, Business Intelligence, Sustainable Energy, the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence etc.
