Can you share a brief overview of your educational and professional background that led you to the role of Vice-Principal at Samskruti College of Engineering & Technology?

I am an associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the Vice Principal at Samskruti College of Engineering and Technology. I received my bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from St. Johns College of Engineering and Technology, JNTUH University, and a master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bharth College of Engineering and Technology, JNTUH University. My vision, vibrant spirit and energy have helped to establish SMSK as a premier institute in the state of Telangana. I have always been a very proactive person and have played a key role in all the activities of the college. I display a keen interest in the affairs of the college and am a student-friendly person. I am also avidly interested in the academic progress of the students and staff.


As Vice-Principal, what do you see as your primary responsibilities and key areas of focus in contributing to the overall success of the college and its students?

Collaborating with the Principal and other senior administrators to develop and implement the college's strategic vision and mission is one of my major duties. I also oversee academic programs, curriculum development, and assessment to ensure they align with the college's goals and meet accreditation standards. I am involved in recruiting, retaining, and developing a diverse and highly qualified faculty. Moreover, I organise faculty development programs, including workshops and conferences and I play a key role during emergencies and crises, such as natural disasters or campus incidents.


What are the biggest challenges currently facing by Engineering colleges, and how do you plan to address them as the Vice-Principal?

Engineering is a rapidly evolving field, and engineering institutes must keep up with the latest technological advancements to provide relevant education. To address this challenge, we can build partnerships with industry leaders to understand their needs and incorporate the latest technologies into the curriculum. We also invest in faculty development programs to ensure the professors are up-to-date with current trends. Additionally, we also update labs and infrastructure to support advanced technologies. We collaborate with local industries for internships, co-op programs, and projects. Finally, we offer interdisciplinary programs and hands-on learning experiences.

How do you ensure that the academic programs and training activities at Samskruti College of Engineering & Technology are up-to-date and aligned with industry standards?

We conduct an annual review of the academic programs and training activities to identify areas that need improvement or updates. Developing a strategic plan for the upcoming year based on these findings. We have established industry advisory boards comprised of professionals, experts, and alumni from relevant fields. These boards can provide insights, feedback, and recommendations for curriculum development and program updates. We allow the students to do internships and cooperative education programs and gain hands-on experience in industry settings. These experiences help students apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations.

This diversity caters to different interests and talents, ensuring there's something for everyone. We recognise and reward student involvement and achievements in extracurricular activities. This can include awards, scholarships, or certificates, as well as motivating more students to participate.


How do you engage with students and gather their feedback to continuously improve the learning experience at Samskruti College of Engineering & Technology?

We develop and distribute regular surveys to students, covering various aspects of their learning experience. These surveys can be administered online to make it convenient for students to participate. We may call groups of students to delve deeper into specific issues or areas for improvement. We provide physical suggestion boxes where students can anonymously submit their suggestions and feedback. Student feedback is an ongoing process where we are regularly revisiting and refining these steps, which can lead to a more responsive and student-centered learning environment.
