R. Anusuya is the Head of the Department of Information Technology at Pioneer College of Arts and Science. She is a dynamic and accomplished professional with two decades of experience in the field of Information Technology. Mrs. Anusuya has been instrumental in fostering a culture of excellence and innovation and is an alumna of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science, where she completed her BSc in Computer Science. Subsequently, she pursued her postgraduate degree at PKR College of Arts and Science, followed by an MPhil in Data Mining from Bharathidasan University, where she specialized in extracting valuable insights from vast datasets. With her expertise and dedication, R. Anusuya has been an inspiration to students and faculty alike, contributing significantly to the growth and success of the department.

What do you think should be the College’s top priority over the next ten years?
Our college's top priority over the next ten years should be to stay at the forefront of technology and ensure that our BSc IT program remains highly relevant and industry-focused. We must continuously update our curriculum to incorporate emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity. Additionally, we should foster strong industry collaborations and provide ample internship opportunities that will enhance students' practical exposure and employability. We will be emphasizing research and innovation will enable us to contribute to cutting-edge developments in the IT field. By prioritizing these aspects, we can equip our students with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the rapidly evolving IT industry.
How does your college prepare students for placements?
We offer rigorous training sessions that focus on enhancing students' problem-solving, logical reasoning, and communication skills. Mock interviews, group discussions, and personality development workshops are organized to boost their confidence and interview readiness. Moreover, we collaborate with industry experts to provide valuable insights and industry-specific knowledge. My vision initially was to achieve the ultimate goal of registering for a doctorate in the field of BSc Information Technology. To achieve this vision, I have been working consistently to enhance my expertise and knowledge in the subject through continuous learning and research. I actively engage in research projects, collaborate with experts in the field, and participate in conferences and seminars to stay updated with the latest developments. By fostering a research-oriented environment in the department, I aim to inspire and guide students towards research opportunities, paving the way for my own doctorate pursuit while supporting their academic and research aspirations.
