Mrs M Parimala has completed a B. Tech in Computer Science and Information Technology from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. She has done an M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad, and is currently Pursuing a Ph.D in the area of image processing from Shri Jagdishprasad Jabharmal Tibrewala University, Jaipur. She has been the convenor for a 2 week FDP prog on Big data Analytics with Hadoop in Association with AICTE and Convenor For another FDP on Big Data in association with Brain O Vision. She has achieved a Certificate of NPTEL-Swayam for the course Database Management System and a Certificate of Coursera for the course Introduction to Artificial Intelligence.

Could you please provide an overview of your roles and responsibilities as the Head of The Department of CSE at VIMTW?

The Head of the Department is required to lead, administer, and develop the department to ensure it achieves the highest possible standards of excellence in all its activities. Maintain the discipline of the students and staff of the Department. Also accountable for completing several tasks in the VMTW CSE Department.

What is your vision for the CSE department for the coming years at VMTW, and how do you plan to achieve it?

To empower female students with professional education using creative & and innovative technical practices of global competence and research aptitude to become competitive engineers with ethical values and entrepreneurial skills.

To teach computer science as a multifaceted discipline of problem-solving. To provide up-to-date curriculum in the technical and scientific knowledge. To set professional and academic goals for our students. To encourage and participate in interdisciplinary undergraduate educational opportunities 

In today's fast-paced technological landscape, how do you keep yourself and your students updated with the latest developments in CSE?

To keep updated with current trends and technologies, read articles, websites, blogs, and knowledge transfer sessions from industry people, conducting workshops on new technologies apart from the syllabus. We can interact with industry experts on various professional social media platforms like LinkedIn.

What are the current biggest challenges in the field of Computer Science Engineering domain in general, and how do you plan to address them as a HOD?

The computer science engineering course is a booming sector in India as well as in most other parts of the world. Technology is bringing about a sea change in how industries and organizations across the globe are operating. Many jobs in this sector have a high growth potential, but there are a few challenges involved with this profession. Everyone should get updated with the new technologies. We are organizing various FDPs and workshops on the latest technologies to get ourselves updated.

How do you plan to collaborate with industry professionals and organizations to provide real-world experiences and opportunities for students in the CSE department at VMTW?

We have signed MOUs with various Companies under which we take up many activities, where experts from industries come to the campus and guide our faculty as well as students. We are in association with ICT Academy.

Can you explain to us the infrastructural facilities available concerning the CSE Department at VIMTW?

Our college campus consists of the Innovation and Incubation Centre where students are allowed to explore/experiment with their ideas, our labs are well-equipped and established to support students anytime. The Doctorates of our department always welcome our students who come up with innovative ideas and whose guidance helps them to solve their problems. We even encourage our students to take up NPTEL, and Coursera courses.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

Think differently and try and explore new ideas without bringing your old ideas. Learn how to learn. Set goals and chase them. Don't fear failure. Be a never-ending reader/learner. Make healthy decisions.
