Dr. G. Apparao Naidu has been working as the Principal of Vignan's Institute of Management and Technology for Women, Hyderabad, Telangana. He has done B.Tech in 1997 from Nagarjuna University, M.Tech in 2001 from Andhra University and PhD in 2011 from JNTU Kakinada. He is also a proud member of FIETE, FIE, ISTE, ISCA and IAENG.
Apart from this, he has published 48 research papers in various International journals, and has 6 international and 7 national patents on his name. He holds a 22+ years of work experience in the teaching and Industry sector. Throughout this time, he has participated in 10 international conferences, 32 Faculty Development Programs and 40 workshops and seminars.
Also, he started his professional journey with ASR Engineering College as an Associate Professor and later on worked for Jyothi Engineering College as an Associate Professor, Datamatics Pvt. Ltd as Senior Software Engineer, IBM India Pvt. Ltd of Hyderabad as a Team Lead, JNTU of Kakinada as a Teaching Associate, JBREC of Hyderabad as a Professor, JBIET of Hyderabad as a Professor and finally joined VMTW in 2020.
Since your joining, what unique approaches has Vignan’s Institute followed to give a good learning environment to students?
Our Vignan Institute has always followed a student-centric approach to provide education to young and ambitious minds of society. And we have always prioritized creating a conducive learning environment that goes beyond traditional classroom teaching. In other words, we regularly encourage our students to think critically and get more practical exposure of a subject or topic through real-time projects and hands-on exercise. And the best benefit of this approach is that it not only ensures academic excellence but also equips our students with the much needed skills and knowledge to excel in their chosen fields.
How do you balance the needs of faculty, students, and administration as a Principal of Vignan?
Being the Principal of Vignan Institute, balancing the needs of faculty, students, and administration is a crucial aspect for me. Therefore, I have promoted the atmosphere of regular and transparent communication on campus and we also held meetings and feedback sessions with all stakeholders from time to time. Apart from this, development of our Faculty is a priority for me in order to ensure they can deliver high-quality education to students. Hence I provide them necessary resources, guidance and support as and when needed.
Also, we never forget to collect feedback from students, so that our educational policies can be modified on time, their concerns can be addressed on time and we can provide them resolution on an earliest basis. Last but not the least, for effective administration, I always make sure that efficient management and resource allocation happens on time to maintain a smooth operation of the college.

What biggest challenges are Engineering Colleges facing nowadays and how do you plan to address them as a Principal?
In today's world, the biggest challenge in front of Engineering colleges are the rapidly evolving technologies and industry demands, followed by simultaneous need to ensure that students are well-prepared for the uncertain future. Hence, as a Principal, I address these challenges by regularly upgrading our college curriculum, fostering the culture of innovation and research on campus, and enhancing industry collaborations than ever before. We also promote a culture of adaptability, critical thinking, and entrepreneurship to equip our students with the skills to tackle these challenges and excel in the Engineering field.

As a Principal of the Vignan, my vision for the coming few years is to further enhance the reputation of our college and make it a center of excellence for women's education. Other than this, my goal is to strengthen our industry connections, expand research opportunities for both students as well as teachers, and continuously update our curriculum to stay at the forefront of technological advancements. We will also work to provide more scholarships and support to deserving students, in order to produce empowered and skilled women Engineers who can make a significant impact in their respective fields and society as a whole.
